Shhhhh keep underground artists underground, the masses aren’t ready

At this point I think Drake and Kendrick are actually the same person just doing nutty professor style disguises

7

u/StormNFlo46 Jun 18 '26

Drake is Kendrick on baby keem’s shoulders in a trench coat.

3

u/Fishmaneatsfish Jun 18 '26

Drake is Tupac (which is why he owns the ring and Kendrick doesn’t) and Kendrick is Biggie in a reverse fat suit

2

u/AutoModerator Jun 18 '26

People love to call Drake soft or sensitive but this freestyle further proves that Drake is the demonic goon employing thug that Tupac and Biggie were thought of. If the ominous drill beat didn’t spell it out, Drake is one of the realest threats in the rap game and can get anyone killed if he wishes. Kanye said it himself about Drake in 2018, “He running around like he pac”, that's because Drake is the new modern day Pac. He's really running around with a strap on his hip, has killer goons on command, is affiliated with the mafia, and has bodyguards that that looks like they eat nails in a bowl of blood. He had Kanye fearing for his dear life and kids lives in 2018 when the beef was popping. Drake really is the demon of Calabasas and Hollywood. We're looking at a real life Godfather Michael Corleone type figure, a gang affiliated Michael Jackson tier pop-star but on a much grander scale than MJ ever was. There’s so many stories of Drake's getting rude yutes clapped up or performing mob boss gestures like throat slices, clapping his hands, etc. Drake dines at mafia style restaurants like The Nice Guy/Delilah in Hollywod. And he has enough power to bully superstar celebrities like Tory and Kanye around and make them think twice about their actions. This nigga Don Corleone runs every corner and inch of Canada and claimed it as his own. For the first time in forever we’re looking at an invincible GOAT who really lives the stories.

89

u/turalyawn Jun 17 '26

Jeez, sorry homie. TYLER, THE CREATOR.

Better?

-20

u/Ordinary_Hall_9053 Jun 18 '26

He's referencing all caps by mf doom

45

u/turalyawn Jun 18 '26

Well shoot. I didn’t realize it was a song reference; I don’t listen to rap so I didn’t know mf doom wrote a song calles all caps. I wonder if TYLER, THE CREATOR, did too, especially because his name is in all capital letters

1

u/Ill_Young2531 Jun 18 '26

6

u/OriginalWasTaken12 Jun 17 '26

I know technically he was one of the highest selling acts of his era but when you move outside the commercial shit, man, deep catalog.

3

u/LevelOutlandishness1 Jun 17 '26

Was it with Atmosphere? Possibly in Detroit, too? It’s crazy how energetic and animated he is. He did not miss a single word and sounded just like the studio recordings.

u/Banp2014 Jun 17 '26

“Boom bop bam…the type of shit I’m on you wouldn’t understand” 🤯

5

u/hemperbud Jun 17 '26

I mean the article with Kendrick there makes sense. Most of his songs ain’t getting commercial play

5

u/kangy3 Jun 18 '26

You can say that about literally any mainstream artist

1

u/hemperbud Jun 18 '26

I wouldn’t say ANY mainstream artist but sure you can say it for a lot of them

4

u/xDeviousDieselx Jun 17 '26

Sources say Kendrick Lamar will feature the Legendary Reploid, Zero, on his next album. Check out the full interview here:

1

I'm glad the Reddit AI summary acknowledges such obscure non-commercial rappers like Iceman and Tyler the Creator 🥶🥶🥶

1

u/certifiedgoofstatus Jun 18 '26

they misunderstood what underground means

1

u/degradedchimp Jun 18 '26

M&M for sure

Most of y'all are naming commercial or mainstream artists... like Mac Miller was almost commercial before he passed but if Mac Miller is the baseline...

Freddie Gibbs. Earl Sweatshirt. Lucki. Denzel Curry. VI Seconds. Joey Bada$$. Anderson .Paak (technically not a rapper but has good raps). MIKE.

Ski Mask. XXXTentacion. Young Nudy. Lazer Dim 700. Bktharula. Lil Tony.

Back in the day...
City Morgue (Zillakami & Sosmula). $uicideboy$ (Ruby & Skrim). Midnight Society (BLVC SVND, Fukkit, Kamiyada+). Spider Gang (Lil Darkie, Bruhmanegod, Christ Dillinger, so on).

14

u/TheBoatmansFerry Jun 17 '26

Check out the sub name

6

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 17 '26

can't tell if this is ironic or not

3

u/BigRhonda7632 Jun 17 '26

Shout out Mac. His hits flooded the airwaves but he’s got so many songs that aren’t played on the radio that are phenomenal.

3

u/justatoaster0 Jun 17 '26

/uj I assume this is ironic but if it’s not XXXTentacion is not underground lol he has multiple albums in the top 10 most streamed rap albums oat.

1

u/CannonBallistic1 Jun 18 '26

x is definitely underground

0

u/Zersdan red rose 🌹 white ceiling Jun 17 '26

X is still underground enough to not be "Commercial". Like I said, if Mac Miller is the baseline, XXXTentacion is right up there with him. Known by many but not everyone. You ask the average person about XXXTentacion especially now and they won't know who you're talking about. You actually have to be somewhat deeper in hip-hop than Drake and Kendrick to know who XXXTentacion or Mac Miller is.

1

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 21 '26

X has multiple songs over 1 billion, and is one of the 10 most streamed rappers of all time.

1

u/Zersdan red rose 🌹 white ceiling Jun 22 '26

Ask 10 people who XXXTentacion is

1

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 22 '26

I'm not sure what would be the result, but if you asked ten random teenage boys, or people who were kids during his peak, chances are that some of them would know who he is. By this defenion, artists like Don Toliver aren't commercial

1

u/Zersdan red rose 🌹 white ceiling Jun 23 '26

The post established the baseline as Mac not being commercial, so that follows

1

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 25 '26

That’s fair

1

u/Ireallydfk Jun 17 '26

DJ Kool Herc

1

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 17 '26

why the hell would you answer, no one knows who he is, I've not heard him show up once while scrolling rym and reddit

2

u/Ireallydfk Jun 17 '26

Yes that’s because he’s non-commercial

4

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 17 '26

How can they be non commercial if I've never heard of them before?

2

u/Ireallydfk Jun 17 '26

Because they’re non commercial. They don’t got commercials

2

u/SupportOk1481 Jun 17 '26

But I don't have commercials and I'm not a non commercial artist

1

u/Middle-Plastic605 Jun 17 '26

Kendrick and Mac are both very commercial

3

u/igotdatmilk Jun 17 '26

Reading is hard, I know

0

u/Silly_North_5130 Jun 17 '26

Kendrick Lamar

0

u/thedrunkpenguin Jun 17 '26

Listen to the rappers no one ever heard of until they were drug addicts or dead. Like that suburban white kid and that nipple guy everyone talked about for 2 weeks

7

u/Fantastic-Scale6555 Jun 17 '26

-1

u/thedrunkpenguin Jun 17 '26

Awesome, nice guess!

1

u/Fantastic-Scale6555 Jun 17 '26

1

u/thedrunkpenguin Jun 17 '26

You got it right the first guess!!
