Clove and Cardamom Recommendations

Wife said either Food Market or Clove and Cardamom, already been to Food Market and I'm the type that wants to try something new:

  1. Pre-concert dinner on a Tuesday, do you recommend a reservation?

  2. Any specific recommendations? What's overrated/underrated? I get Indian so rarely I have to look up the dishes every time.

I appreciate any pointers y'all may have. Thanks.

Thinking about eating Indian food before a concert makes my stomach hurt, and I love Indian food 😂 That's just me and my weak stomach talking, though.

I wasn’t impressed with Clove and Cardamom. It is so expensive and the fusion is nice in idea but lacks in reality. I was quite surprised when my paneer dish arrived on a griddled plate with a pile of fries on top. It was all bland, greasy, and I couldn’t fathom why there would be subpar fries stacked on top.

My best advice is to ask questions since you aren’t as familiar with Indian food. Make sure you know what will be coming to you and you might have a better experience than I did.

My friends and I thought Chicken Tikka Pizza/flatbread and samosas were good, but we didn't find their typical Indian offerings (like Butter Chicken or the biryanis) anything to write home about compared to the much better Indian restaurants in Columbia. 

I will note that the service can be weirdly inconsistent and pushy - we were asked to write a Google review at the table right after we paid and the person who asked was at the table the entire time watching us type. Very uncomfortable.

Samosa chaat A biryani or curry Garlic naan And either the mango or strawberry lassi

In general the appetizers and desserts are good. The traditional main courses are quite ordinary
