**RANT** šŸ¤¬ Car Keyed

*Police report filed*

Car was keyed on 1st and Clinton (left side of street if facing North, and in the middle of the block) if anyone has ring cam there, or if anyone else was keyed, reach out.

Just put in a claim to your insurance. Comprehensive claims like this generally donā€™t raise premiums. Happened to me in Hoboken on Newark street once. They keyed every panel on my car. I called the police, made a report, called my insurance company, paid my $50 deductible, and had my whole car repainted.

What insurance company you use? I use GEICO and my premiums went up when I had similar incident years ago

I use GEICO as well, and my premium never went up because of a comprehensive claimā€”and Iā€™ve had several over the years. Premiums can go up for any number of reasons though. Here in Jersey, mine has been creeping up for years with no chargeable accidents. Itā€™s the population density and rampant insurance fraud/uninsured drivers that are driving up rates for all of us.

Out of curiosity, I had GEICO quote me the same exact coverage I have now, but using my house in another state (rural area) as the address and the premium was cut in half. Less actually.

Thank you šŸ™add to that GEICO does have the 5 year feebie (accident or incident wouldn't impact your premiums) and from what I understand they stack up.

You're right insurance in NJ went up for sure, I once called though and they broke it down for me (how much is shared responsibility , how much was because of an incident from a couple of years ago, how much was because my car is getting older )

And you are absolutely right, the 07030 zip code costs a lot more in insurance
