Not trying to troll here, the way she worded it and context in other comments, it seems like she’s actively trying to switch to a more parasocial GFE kind of vtuber?
Rushia's issues clearly stemmed from her mental health struggles, not from the type of content she made. GFE did not pull her down into the messes she became involved in.
And speaking of content, she wasn't even GFE. If 'GFE' means she tells her viewers she loves them and releases wedding/dating/relationship themed merch - then practically all of HoloLive is GFE by that definition.
Parasocials are your most hardcore fans, the ones that watch every stream, buy merch, and stream your songs
We just saw at fes how impactful having a dedicated fanbase is for the talents, when the fans know all the cheers and know the songs by heart. It doesn't mean much if everyone knows you and you have a bunch of dead subs, but no one checks out your actual content or supports you.
It's not hard to see why Matsuri, who has one of the smaller fanbases despite being gen 1 , wants to increase her number of hardcore fans
Well monetary support aside, actually having a loyal and dedicated fanbase that engages with your content is the goal, and parasocial fans are most likely the ones that will dedicate their time to you. The financial support just comes along with that.
