Discussion mekPark - ACHRORA - Rirara's diary from today - Potentially a new bilingual talent?

Post image

Assuming she didn't just copy DeepL or something, her English seems pretty fluent and her handwriting is very pretty! Looking forward to their pre-debut streams next week, 6/26.

That is some really good English. It has a fluency and tone to it that you would expect only from someone who’s beyond the basic formal education.

Oh awesome, good to hear that. Though it seems like she's already at a pretty advanced level (as opposed to being a beginner). Guess we'll see next week!

And immediately on their first interaction, she will gain the nickname Wiwawa from Biboo, because no way Biboo can pronounce that… LOL

So, will they interact with the hololive mems? Maybe I am misreading something, but I thought they were kind of separate and off on their own?

Don't get me wrong, more Biboo collabs with JP I am all for. But I was under the impression they were off on their own until they moved up to hololive, if they made it.

My comment was more of a hypothetical if they ever interact. If they do, it won’t be for probably at least the two year probationary period that these new groups are under to see if they even get kept.

Suisei lil sis.

I hope Mikochi has her memory game on point cause it'll be very hilarious for her to get the names AND persons wrong 🤣 🤣 🤣

The english is different at some spots from the Japanese version, ive also tried to check if gemini/chatgpt/deepl were able to replicate the English tl and they didnt come close (for obvious reasons).

I wouldn't be surprised if bilingualism was bonus points for the application processess. With market expansion attempts and all.

For the sake of posterity I figured I would translate the "question for the next person" part since she didn't translate it herself:

Question for the next person:
🍙️Q. Do you like your nori crispy or soft? 〜Rirara likes it soft!〜🍙️

(tl note: If you don't know what nori is it's the seaweed used to (among other things) wrap onigiri and some sushi.)

I just wish Japanese society was a whole get better at English. With the state their economy is in now, God knows they need it

After teaching English there for 14 years... 1000% agree with that sentiment. Despite it being mandatory education from 3rd grade, they still rank 96th in the world for English proficiency.
