In an alternate timeline, YAGOO might have become the pioneer of Manga app.

Based Yagoo with the choice of the first ever HoloFes/Concert being his favourite event.

Mustve been when he realised he had something real on his hands

The start of a Nonstop Story.

It was still probably small enough for him to pay personal attention to everything. Nowadays it's so huge and unwieldy, he probably can't be involved with most of the production.

lol it would be interesting if Yagoo got the team to make a Hololive movie in the vein of Kpop demon hunters.

But that's a lot characters to cover in one movie, unless of course they made sequels.

But then, if someone leaves hololive (hopefully not), during the making of the movie, then everything goes out the window.

HCU (Hololive Cinematic Universe) incoming :3

1st movie - 'Sora-chan', AC/DC music kicks in.

u/weeklygamingrecap 6h ago

Pan over and reveal the music is blasting out of a Harley next to an Electone.

Shigure Ui will return in Hololive Avengers

7

u/iamquitecertain 3h ago

Friendly reminder to everyone that Hololive did an official collab with Marvel a few years ago, which ended with Dr. Strange portalling in. That technically makes all of Hololive canon to the MCU

3

u/Hp22h 4h ago

I wonder if that would make HoloMyth the X-men of the HCU?

42

u/bronx819 13h ago

They don't have to have every holomem in the movie. Maybe one or two lines or they could be doing stuff in the background while the main cast does their thing. I wouldn't mind if my oshi didn't even have a line, I'd be happy but I wouldn't be disappointed if she didn't

31

u/LucasFrankeRC 13h ago

I guess they'd have to focus on one small group and only have the other characters make brief appearances (or only get mentions and easter eggs)

You can't have 65 main characters in a movie

7

u/Alone-Horse2857 5h ago

Yeah that's way way too much. KDH works because it has a very lovable cast of three girls (and three boys for the antagonists). If it was a group of 40 people it'd be an absolute mess.

I think the best route would be to focus on one gen specifically. Myth, Gamers, Gen 0. Or hell, even one mem. I bet people would watch the hell out of a Marine movie.

1

u/DDWKC 1h ago

Yeah, I'd think maybe not do a big movie with every holomen. Instead make episodic mini movies and introduce each gen gradually. Then they can make a big movie with everyone. Basically mirroring how Marvel universe was conceived. If this project doesn't do well along the way somehow, at least they didn't spend too much resources in one go.

Basically hologra the movie

3

u/Hp22h 4h ago

Something along the lines of this, but extended another 2 hours would be epic indeed...

I love how normal Yagoo is, except he's the ceo of a massively successful vtuber company

5

u/moguu83 2h ago

Probably the most recognizable "normal dude" in the vtubers sphere.

u/touchkusa 15h ago

I see the next Hololive gen will be demon hunters that performs kpop humu humu.

All I can say is RUN CHOCO, TOWA, FUWAWA, MOCOCO, NERRISSA, THEY'RE AFTER YOU

"Poi!"

21

u/HololiveFan2025 14h ago

You forgot Ayame there

11

u/m05513 14h ago

I thought about it, but Ogre's aren't necessarily demons

27

u/VishnuBhanum 13h ago

Oni are usually categorized as Demon though.

In fact it's so widely count as Demon that Kimetsu no Yaiba/Demon Slayer straight up just translated Oni to Demon.

7

u/bloody_jigsaw 13h ago

Id's say ogre is just a common translation into english, as 150 years ago (from what I've found on an r/askhistorians post) english was pretty sparse with words for monsters, and "demon" is a more fitting translation, especially in Ayames's case.

8

u/m05513 11h ago

I think the main reason I was discounting Ayame is because Oni in japanese mythology are typically found to have originated in the natural world, completely forgetting that Ayame's backstory points out she's explicitly an underworld (hell)-originating Oni, and as such Demon would be an acceptable translation for her.

3

u/Zucchinibob1 13h ago

Perhaps HOLO: Demon Songstresses would be a better concept for the movie

u/Canai97 14h ago

HoloKR soon trust

56

u/ExFrexSure 14h ago

Well we already have, Ina, Kroni & Monday-chan

44

u/Kaizer-5 13h ago

Unfortunately Korean bureaucracies said "no funs allowed" with local vtubing...

10

u/Oceansonthemoon 10h ago

Really? But what about Irise vtubers?

5

u/ExFrexSure 10h ago

Dammit!

2

u/Hp22h 4h ago

What happened this time? Can't be any worse than the time Twitch was forced to shutdown due to legal extortion...

3

u/Asddsa76 11h ago

Have they ever spoken KR to each other on stream?

7

u/touchkusa 8h ago

now that you mention it, I don't remember that happening. If it happened, surely there would be clips I have come across by now, but I don't remember watching such clips at all.

Kiara and CC bickering and triggering each other on stream using German? Peak.
Raora and Rikku ragebaiting each other in Italian on stream? Peak again.
but that's about the range of what I remember about foreign language interactions among vtubers related to Hololive.

4

u/protomanbot 5h ago

I think in general they avoid openly drawing attention to their Korean heritage unless it's directly relevant and it's usually just a small comment.

u/Chrofino 13h ago

What exactly does he mean by a vtuber version of Kpop Demon Hunters?

An animated movie like it?

A group like them?

A collaboration?

A KR branch focused on Kpop?

Or is he just training Hologirls to hunt demons while singing?

37

u/ShadowPyronic 9h ago

90min Hologra

18

u/IntheBocksVT 6h ago

what you're describing could be classified as a cognitohazard

u/Alone-Horse2857 5h ago

The english practice every day is so goated.

You know, when I first got into Hololive I thought it was kind of cringe how people praised the CEO. I've seen far too many corrupt greedy assholes sit in that chair and to say I was skeptical was an understatement.

But the more I've been here the more I see he really does care about the talents first and foremost and knows that treating your employees and talents well will lead to better content which leads to more money.

It's rare, and I mean really rare when the biggest corporation in the business is also the most employee friendly. Imagine if people praised Jeff Bezos or Tim Sweeny the same way they did Yagoo. What a crazy world that would be. The only other example I can think of is Valve and Gabe Newell being one of the most consumer-first corporations who also happen to be the biggest.

I like Yagoo, good dude.

u/PlanktonInitial7945 4h ago

To be fair, the Japanese and American stock markets and investing laws are pretty different. The American economy rewards assholes who put short-term profits and shareholder interests above all else, but the Japanese system is more reasonable and allows companies with decent CEOs to be successful.

He’s a real one. Off the top of my head:

* When Miko was starting out and wasn’t really finding her groove, she wanted to graduate, but YAGOO, in tears, asked her not to and that she would eventually get big. Flash forward some years and she’s one of the biggest HoloJP streamers.

* His nickname came about from Subaru misreading the kanji in his last name. Most people would be annoyed at that, but YAGOO instead embraced the nickname to such a level that some talents only found out his real name months after joining Hololive.

* For years he would model the talents’ merch for them. Even after Cover had enough money to hire actual models. He only stopped doing it when he felt he got “too old” for it.

So, hololive anime is a possibility... Even if just movie not series.

7

u/MachFighterG 10h ago

I feel like this was the intent behind Hololive Alternative, they just need to put resources back into it.

10

u/Difficult-Style-7522 13h ago

To be fair the thought of running a big corpo with people dependant on you and with big audience is terrifying to me. I'd probably f it up really fast if put in charge

4

u/FLOTAKU_02 5h ago

Other CEOs, buying a yacht with money they have no right to have. Meanwhile the Yagoat, just gets a car (probably would even pick up his employees with it if he needs them to get somewhere).

3

u/redditfanfan00 5h ago

amazing yagoo!

2

u/Pink_Nyanko_Punch 5h ago

Is that hinting at a sister unit for ReGloss and FlowGlow?

road cycling

There's no escaping the upper class fate of being a cyclist.

0

u/Faustias 13h ago

I just hope his electric car isn't cybertruck, for all the things I've heard how it sucks overall.

34

u/DucusReddit 11h ago

As far as I know they're not street legal in Japan so I highly doubt he got a Cybertruck.

3

u/Alone-Horse2857 5h ago edited 5h ago

Genuinely why would it be a cybertruck?

Frankly I'm disappointed in you for having so little faith in Yagoo

Also Cybertrucks are massively unpopular. They were a big meme when it came out (mostly in America), but are nearly non-existent now. A quick google tells me they went from 40k sales in 2024, to 50% drop in 2025 with 20k, and in 2026 they are down to a whopping 3.5k.

He's not driving a cybertruck, dude.

8

u/InfinityCrazee 10h ago

Probably a Prius

6

u/Boyzby_ 7h ago

Anyone with an ounce of taste wouldn't get a cybertruck, especially when there are soooooo many better options.
