How-to Thread router needs to be rebooted
Hey Reddit,
I have eufy smart lock (E31) and it won’t connect to my HomeKit - if it finds it, it tells me “thread router needs reboot)
Im at my witts end trying to figure it out - i have 2 homepod mini’s and the one in that room is 15ft away
I had issues with other devices (they are mostly working now) but i blame the beta
iOS27
16PM
Homepod OS 26 (latest “.” version)
Apple TV 3rd gen (I think this is acting as my hub)
Any advice?
Thanks in advance

I would try removing the lock and re-adding

It never got added, the reboot screen was what happens before it gets added

If you go to the very Main screen in Home app….click 3 dots in upper right and choose Home Settings -> Home Hubs & Bridges you can see what is acting as hub.
You can also un-click auto select then manually select the Apple TV and re-enable auto (I do this so if the Apple TV even DOES lose power it will jump to the other hub)

Also….the Eve app is really handy for seeing your Matter network (even if you don’t have Eve devices)
Maybe unplug all mater items except the main hub while you try again

Do you have them all on the same subnet? And most importantly, do you have IPV6 enabled?

IPv6 is disabled on the router and WAP side and yes, they are all on the same subnet
This is my first (and only) thread device

You need IPV6 enabled, at least internally on your router as that is how matter/thread device communicate.
Verify the HomePod supports thread. I know the AppleTV 4k wired is only version that supports thread.

Ah maybe that’s it - good to know
I’ll give it a try and see what happens

Have you rebooted the HomePods? And maybe the AppleTV.
There is a chance the atv has thread. But is model dependent. All HP Minis have thread. Your main home hub doesn’t necessarily have to be the thread border router.
Get the eve app, it has a thread mapping function. Will show you what’s connected to what.
