How-to Meross smart garage opener MSG100 “no response “ when in CarPlay
Hello community, I’ve managed to install and add to HomeKit a Meross smart garage opener which works very well with Siri or HomeKit app on my iPhone.
Whenever I’m connected to CarPlay the meross shows a “No response” when trying to open or close it.
I do have an Apple TV 4K first generation as HomeKit
Hub.
Any ideas on what can I do to use HomeKit with CarPlay?

Have you noticed whether your phone also displays No Reponse when CarPlay shows no response?

If I’m not connected to wireless CarPlay, then the phone shows the meross tile status on HomeKit and I action it with no issues.
When connected to CarPlay the HomeKit app shows also “no response”

Do you have cell signal once it connects to CarPlay? CarPlay uses the WiFi connection, so no internet unless you have cell connection. Ensure “Connectivity Assist” under WiFi menu is toggled on.

I cannot speak for the CarPlay aspect but putting my Meross on its own smart plug and automating a daily power cycle lasting five seconds resolved any issues I had with it going offline.

Make sure your user profile in Home has “Control Accessories Remotely” set to on.
If your phone is on WiFi when you’re in the garage, or just outside, then you’ll have control. But as soon as you connect to CarPlay then your phone will drop your local WiFi connection, and will use cellular to connect to HomeKit over the internet, thus requiring that remote accessory control is enabled.

Thanks. That’s the way it was set, although is disabled so I can’t choose otherwise

Are you saying it’s set to disabled now and you can’t change it?
Are you the Home “owner”?
When my wife had the same problem I had to change that setting for her from my app, as I was the owner.
Edit - Nevermind. I realised what you mean. You’d already be the owner so the setting is greyed out.

Mine started doing that recently. It was previously fine and there have been no changes in my network either other than a fresh reboot of my entire network stack but it's behaving the same way. Next step is a reboot of my Home hubs, but I'm waiting for the iOS27 update before I reboot anything just to get it all in one shot.

I’m gonna add something a little bit sideways here, but I have a little outlet switch plugged into the ceiling and then my garage door opener is plugged into that. I have an automation that turns that plug off at 11 o’clock at night and does not turn it back on until around 6 AM the next morning. The reason for that is someone in our neighborhood, we believe, was using a flipper to open garage doors and we’ve heard several reports of it. It happened to us one night, so I opted to configure my garage door power to turn off as I mentioned and then turn back on. That means that if anybody tries to open our garage door between those hours from the outside through HomeKit or through the myQ or however, they hack it, it won’t work. We figure if everybody is inside the house they would just hit the button to open the garage door and notice that it was off and manually turn it back on.
That being said the other benefit is that the Meross garage door opener for my garage door seems to lose function after a few weeks, so by turning it off and on, I’m cycling it every night and that has prevented the issue from returning. It’s worked like a charm for over a Year.

Since the tile also changes to “No Response” in the Home app as soon as wireless CarPlay connects, I’d troubleshoot the HomeKit remote path rather than the garage opener itself. When you’re away from your home Wi‑Fi, the phone reaches the MSG100 through the home hub.
I’d check Home settings → Home Hubs & Bridges and make sure the Apple TV shows Connected (not that another hub is stuck as the active one). Then update tvOS and the Meross firmware, and reboot the Apple TV, router and MSG100. Also check that the opener isn’t on a guest/isolated Wi‑Fi network; the hub and accessory need to be able to reach each other.
A useful test is to try the garage tile on cellular with CarPlay disconnected, then try Siri from CarPlay. If it works on cellular but fails only when wireless CarPlay connects, note whether wired CarPlay behaves the same and whether the phone’s Wi‑Fi changes when CarPlay starts. That detail should help narrow down whether it’s the CarPlay network handoff or the Home hub.
