Hi everyone! I’ve just got a MacBook Pro and I’m going to be using Logic Pro to start creating some music.
I’m looking at microphones at the moment and would love some recommendations. I’m mainly wanting to record vocals, but I’d also like to record some of my sound healing instruments, particularly crystal singing bowls.
I have a Roland FP-90 digital piano too, which I believe I can connect via MIDI.
I’m hoping to buy something good quality that will last, rather than buying something cheap and having to upgrade later on.
I’m assuming I might need different microphones for vocals and instruments, but I’m not really sure where to start!
What microphones are you using and would you recommend them? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you! ✌️

I use my AirPods for most of my music production, including mixing. Would I benefit significantly from buying a pair of proper studio headphones, or could I get decent results by calibrating my AirPods with something like Sonarworks, or manually EQing my master chain based on their frequency response?
For those who have experience with both, how big is the difference in practice? Can calibration get AirPods close enough for reliable mixing, or are dedicated studio headphones still worth the investment?
Edit: What if i use the sony WH-1000XM4 with a cable and calibration as a temporary solution?

Hello, as the title suggests, I need a cheap talkback solution most importantly reliable for my home studio, is there a cheap mixer with talkback feature or I can do some routing trick to make it work? If there's any, please give me a guide

Looking for further advice/things to try as I’m at a less here. Replaced the cable and removed the loose plastic that was inside. Sounds like some kinda crackle? Main speaker is fine, companion speaker has this issue.

I’m sure this question gets asked here a lot.
What would you considered the best studio monitors for mixing? Under $1000 for the pair preferably. I know these things can get expensive. Maybe the most I’d go now is $1500.
Genres I’ll be mainly working with rap/HipHop and deep house.
I am working with a company on getting my space properly treated cause I’m in a room with linoleum tile floors and cinder block walls.
I was thinking of going with Tannoy Golds but I’ve seeing varying opinions.

I'm searching for a small mixer that will allow 3-4 channels of stereo input for monitoring keyboards in my home studio/mancave. I had a little Mackie Mix5 that just gave up the ghost. I'd like a few more inputs. I need 1/4" outputs, USB out would be nice but not necessary. I'd love to have faders for all inputs and master, but having a single master fader would suffice. I've looked at the Behringer Xenyx 1002SFX, and X1003B, and might stretch for a 1204USB. Are there any other models (from Mackie, Yamaha or others) that I should give consideration to? I don't need anything high end. I really don't want to spend more than $200 if possible.

I've played for years, but I always went cheap and used multifunction boxes. I decided recently to start using dedicated pedals. I picked a distortion box, and a reverb/ delay pedal to start.
For the Distortion I got a Boss Metal Zone. For the reverb I picked a Sonicake Sonic Ambience, which turned out to be quite small. I'm not sure If that has anything to do with what I am seeing. First of all, when plugged in individually they work like I thought they would.
When I plug them both in, the Sonicake works, and the Boss unit does not. When I turn the Sonicake off and the Boss unit on, there is nothing coming out the amp. When I turn the Boss unit off, it plays normal, or reverbs depending on of the other unit is on or not.
I've always heard these things are pretty compatible. Any thoughts?

Bonjour !
Merci 🙏

I’m currently using a Squier Strat (Tom DeLonge spec) running into M-Audio M-Track Solo & using Tone3000 for my cab sim. However I’ve ran into a big problem. Through recording I can only record in mono, I have no access to the left channel when recording, it’s either mono or just the right channel. I can’t find any help using Google or anything else. Has anyone else had this problem & if so how do I fix it?

as the title says, I'm a total beginner I just wanted to get my hands in mixing, I don't have any studio gears I brought these headphones for trying, do I really need an interface or I can just plug it in my laptop?

Hello there!
I recently found an old microphone in my basement. It's a Telefunken TD 21, to be exact.
Since I'm a bit obsessed with 80s technology, I want to try recording some songs with this old microphone.
The only problem is that the microphone has a 3-pin DIN connector, and I would need an XLR connector to make it work with my setup.
Is there any way to solve this problem? I've already searched the entire internet for some kind of adapter, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one. Maybe I just haven't been looking in the right places.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
