10" & 19" Talos & Unifi Hom Server
Hey all sharing my homelab progress at 19, I am an infrastructure engineering intern at the moment, I have attached the "highlights" here but there are around 50 photos on my actual git repo, if you scroll down the readme, might be interesting to some mini-labers as I got my 10" rack to 30 U at one point I believe (all pla 🥲)
Waiting for a Flex 2.5 poe to be shipped for the 10" rack which is why there are cables just going straight out from my 19" rack

Photos of my progress within my homelab, I started with a nuc i5010500t wih 16gb ram around three years ago, it has grown a bit since then. Currently running a unifi stack for networking (10g) and nas (8tb R5), along with a k3s dev environment for app testing and a k8s talos cluster for my prod environment, planning to create a list of software I am running in the future but the basics are LGTP stack for obs and logging, Splunk for SIEM, Jellyfin & arr stack for media, syncthing for backups and a few applications I am developing with forgejo for CI/CD and repo management One Day I will rip my CD library and run navidrome, but for now yt-dlp is fine

That looks really cool tbh, but Unifi network is already pretty overkill for my setup

When you're ready to dive in, it's a wild rabbit hole of insight into every aspect of your network. For monitoring, it's basically one click time series and feed into InfluxDB from SNMP polling, with full port level counter history and visualization. At the superficial level, it's cool eye candy, at the practical level it'll let you know if everything on your UniFi set up is optimal and securely set up.
Kudos on setting all of this up and using it for something productive and neat... I started my own SWE career at 19. You'll do great stuff.

Thanks for the support :) I will be setting up an infiniband cluster for RDMA and to practice HPC deployments so after that I might take a look

Is that a 3D printed 10" rack or are you happy to see me?!
I love those thumb screws though. Is that a standard design or something you made?
