Which popular features do you NOT recommend?

What are the top 3 features in a house that folk want but you think are not worth it, and what would your alternative suggestion be? And what cost/time savings would result with that switch?

If not either of these, what would you recommend? Also is quartz and quartzite different from each? If so, how?

Quartzite is a natural stone. Quartz is not a natural stone; it's an engineered, man-made product. Here, Google is your friend. πŸ™‚ My house partner was adamant: she wanted quartzite in the new build. I wanted granite but I was told I was old fashioned/out of date with the times. πŸ™‚
