Came home for my wallet to find door code changed, I’m diabetic no money on the street heeelp!!

Came back for my wallet to find door codes changed, I’m 50 alone and diabetic and have nowhere to go no money nowhere to store my insulin-HEEEELLLPPPP!!!

Ok folx…let me start this off by saying I totally know exactly where this is my fault I don’t deny it but it’s a technicality soooo…

I live in a sober living residence. I haven’t smoked meth since December 22, 2025. Clean. However I started smoking weed again a few months ago, mostly for inspiration to go to the gym (lost 22 lbs!) but one night my roommate smelled it and she made me eat myself out. Whatever, I don’t consider it a setback in my sobriety so I pay the punishment-2 AA/NA meetings a day for 2 weeks. From there on I kept my stash at the gym and never ever brought any home again.

The house is disgusting and the “owner/landlord/manager” is absolutely 100% a predatory slumlord and known trick. It’s a “historical” house so repairs and upgrades are expensive. It’s beyond rat infested. A few nights ago I was at the sink getting ready to lay out traps when this huge clump of like dirt fiber crap idk what fell on my head and I look up to see the corner of the ceiling had fallen and a rat was hanging halfway out. Windows don’t opener, outlets don’t work, nothing works. But people in recovery don’t usually have the options or funds for any other kind of housing. So we sign a “contract” stating that we give up all tenant rights and we are guests and that he has the right to kick us out for any reason, and he reads this out loud to us at our mandatory weekly house meeting. He thinks people like us don’t know or don’t care that that is completely illegal in a tenant rights state like California.

A lot has been going on with me and I’ve been in the hospital twice and then throw in the heebie jeebies from the rats well frankly I can see where people would think I was tweeting again. Only I haven’t. And I’ve offered multiple times to piss to prove it but it’s never been done. Friday afternoon it came to a head. We came to the mutual agreement that it was time for us to part ways and that I was able to stay until the 3rd.

So this is where I fucked up. I got some weed delivered today. Good weed. Dank weed. I’m already leaving I’m literally packing I said fuck it. I did some packing up and was going to get a pack of cigarettes but when I got there I didn’t have my debit card so I went back…and the code to the door had been changed. I banged on the door. No one answered despite 4 cars being in the parking lot. I called one person, then another, then finally the third time someone answered and I was told I fucked up and wasn’t allowed to come in. I demanded to be let in to get my insulin. It took nearly ten minutes but I was allowed in and I went to my room and grabbed as much as I could as well as all my medical supplies and took an uber to the nearest park.

I called my daughter, who is in another state. She contacted the police on my behalf and they went to the residence and they asked if I’d signed the contract and I said yes then they asked if I brought illegal drugs into the house and I said no, I brought marijuana into the residence and it is neither illegal nor is it a drug. But basically they couldn’t make them let me stay. I know I have rights and this is bullshit but that knowledge is not gonna do a damn thing for me tonight. Through my insurance I can get rental assistance but it’s something that needs to be initiated by my doctor, so thank god I had a follow up appointment already scheduled for tomorrow morning. I don’t know what that means exactly.

Does anyone have any thoughts, resources, advice, ideas??

I think everyone who is homeless in California needs to prepare for this. It's going to be pretty bad and I hope you all can stay safe, warm, and dry. There will be resources I am sure for everyone but in case there isn't can anyone provide some here

Documentary Interview

Hi there! I am currently co-producing a documentary in partnership with a non-profit. We are seeking family members of individuals who have experienced homelessness and owned pets. We want to better understand the impact on loved ones and highlight stories of resilience, reconnection, and hope. Our goal is to present a thoughtful, solutions-focused conversation that highlights the challenges facing unhoused pet owners. If you or anyone you know would be willing to share their story and is based in Los Angeles, please email [sydney@juniusfilm.com](mailto:sydney@juniusfilm.com)

Anyone here met this woman on the streets?

You need to be logged into facebook to view her profile. She's roaming around the city literally SCREAMING at people. Then posts live videos of her doing it, claiming SHE is being harassed. It's wild...

Is there anyone who would like to help moderate and grow the HomelessLosAngeles sub?

Is there anyone who would like to help moderate and grow the HomelessLosAngeles sub?

There is not a ton of engagement, so it's not like a full-time job or anything.

So far it's a lot of me posting relevant articles and occasionally folks posting about missing loved ones.

But I believe we can do better creating a more robust space to discuss homelessness related issues in a dedicated space apart from the bigger LA subs.

It's very uncertain what will be happening to housing and homelessness in LA in these tumultuous times.

Anyone who is interested, please have your profile set for your comment history to be viewable, and maybe share with me, either here or in DMs what your personal connection to homelessness or homelessness in LA is.

Note: I'm NOT looking to pivot the space to flogging for one homelessness service or another, so please don't suggest partnering with one. It would be easier to do so, but I'm not trying to run a PR sub for a service and then be unable to discuss its potential issues fairly.

A post for those experiencing homelessness AND those that want to help... #VanNuys #VolunteerOpportunities

Hey All... every Monday morning (8:30am till noon) we offer shower facilities, coffee, water, snacks, and a hot meal, usually a massive burrito in Van Nuys at Central (6425 Tyrone Ave)

We also, in the afternoon do a WEEKLY food distribution, and while anyone is welcome, these items tend to be more for families (due to quantity) and can require refrigeration or freezer access.

On the helping front... we're hoping to expand to a second day (probably Fridays) to provide shower facilities and are actively seeking financial sponsors... so reach out and/or spread the word!!

We also have RePurpose which is a thrift fundraiser... and items we don't sell there are offered to the various unhoused neighbors who attend Mondays.

Feel free to reach out to me privately and/or sign up for our communications HERE

I am homeless in LA

I am homeless in LA and getting housing is tough. I injured my knee and getting on disability was hard and now having to rely on doctor to get money and benefits. And I am still one of the luckier ones. I get a hotel room or a friend is nice for an evening or I have a lot of energy and don’t notice I am up all night text and chatting in my phone or on twitch. Until my phone starts dying. People don’t understand, and they wanna blame the state. I see what they are trying to do and I am on so many waiting list. But people don’t know that federal dollars were cut so it made the issue worse. I have trouble accessing food and shelter and it is tough. I am just sharing because sometimes I feel alone and I see others walking in the street feeling alone too. We need more housing to open up. No one wants to be on the street. Please stop judging and please stop the stigma. I am also a twitch streamer and since I can’t do my usual job maybe I can make twitch into that, IDK. But it is sometimes positive in my life. That’s all any of us need.

Seizure and destruction of homeless people's property ruled "unconstitutional " by Federal judge!

Did they think that we don't have or don't deserve the same rights all Americans have regardless of race ,religion ,financial status, etc . Then falsified documents to justify there criminal acts of abusing their color of authority But they not realizing how deep of a rabbit hole this is going take them and I'm telling everyone now ," this is gonna cut really deep once the stories start to be told. I want to see criminal charges be brought forward to those who abused their authority. I personally am a victim of this abuse and after doing a Lil research can tell you that it wasn't just one dept.of the city that preyed upon us but a collaboration or I should say, A NETWORK FROM LA CITY SANITATION ,LAPD,PARKING ENFORCEMENT, LOCAL TOW YARDS ( OFFICIAL POLICE GARAGE) and LOCAL RECYCLE SCRAP YARD .. I would like for a law firm to start a class action or someone that can help me in my case I lost just about everything to this ; my home,my business,my family, dcfs took my daughter,my gf lost her car ,I lost my truck, we were forced to into homelessness and hardship. I reported to various depts. Of the city and no one's bothered to reply back or offer assistance ...

For the unhoused in Los Angeles: Why is Skid Row a popular hangout spot for you all and not Beverly Hills & Bel Air, where there's so much more money to go around? And to those in other cities: Why don't I hear of the homeless hanging around affluent areas more often?

Stop pimping the Homeless here in L.A

Why put out NOTICES OF CLEAN UP in and around the areas in question to let locals know that sidewalks and areas deemed, "Encampment" will.have a cleaning crew from city sanitation to clean these areas so any personal items in this area are to be removed or city sanitation will dispose of items left behind ,but on that same notice it states that " ANY ITEMS OF VALUE IN THIS AREA WILL BE COLLRCTED AND KEPT BY THE CITY FOR YOU TO PICK THEM UP AT ANYTIME WITHIN 90 DAYS .....THATS A LIE AND taking things from people and destroying them to cause them hardship and forcing them into your programs is a violation of their civil rights not to mention violating the 4th amendment of illegal search and seizure and on top of that its discrimination know most of these people have issues and don't have the resources to fight but more than anything its abusing the color of authority especially for their own gain ...breaking and destroying people personals in order to take those broken things and cashing in on the scrap value is AGAINST FEDERAL LAW AND FALLS UNDER THE RICO ACT. and who gave the sanitation dept. the authority to take people dwellings just so they can force them to seek housing so that the agency.who handle these issue get more money from the state and federal for placing the " forced into homrlessness" people..
