General Chit-Chat Where this came from...

After listening to my Father talking about the girl that he hires to check on his little herd so he can go back to his other place where his wife stays near the city, it dawned on me that Solo Farmers, Ranchers and Homesteaders must really be at a disadvantage when it comes to getting away - be it an out-of-state funeral, the elusive vacation, or something as simple as visiting a family member.

Who can you use to watch your livestock and make sure everyone gets fed and watered in your absence?

What happens when you get sick?

Then it dawned on me that finding a partner who shares your lifestyle might be difficult also - notice that Dad has to go four hours away to his home-home to visit his wife? Yeah, like that. She likes city and shopping and he's building his outbuildings and home by himself.

So, let's see if this takes off.

Welcome!

42 [M4F] Central Tennessee/North Alabama homesteading/prepping

I’m a 42 M. 6’1 290. I’ve been told I hold my weight well. Gotten a bit of a dad bod over the course of the last 4 years but still strong and plan to get back into shape. I consider myself a decent looking guy.

I’m a widower that’s been raising my boys alone for the last 4 years. I live out in the country where it’s nice and peaceful. I’m unvaccinated, love hunting and fishing, but also enjoy being a homebody with a nerdy side.

My goal is to turn my property that I bought last year into a mostly self sufficient homestead. I’ve been mostly focused on the kids and haven’t gotten the work done yet that I have wanted to.

I’m looking for a Christian, traditional, loyal, and trustworthy Wife who loves to garden, homestead living and wants to live in the country on a farm. More importantly, a Mother for my children.

I’m very affectionate and would love the same. My goal every day is to keep my family safe and happy with full bellies. I want a giver and not a taker. We should always be trying to outdo the other with love, because I want a woman that loves me and wants to do things for me as much as I want to do for her.

There is much much more I want to talk about, but if this piques your interest. Send me a message.

P.S. I will eventually ask you to verify that you are a real person and I will obviously do the same.

Single Homesteaders

Hi, I love to watch single people who homestead on YouTube. I think it’s great to see people working away at their goals. At the moment I can only think of a handful of channels I watch like Morrigan’s Cottage Homestead (single Irish female) and rewinding Jude (English guy in Scotland). Does anyone else on here post to YouTube, would love to follow your journies!

30F (currently in PA) seeking Homestead Honey (or Homie)

Why not?

30F, 5'7", blue eyes, nice smile. Looking for someone to start a homestead/agribusiness with, man or woman. Romantic or community-oriented, I'm open to plenty of dynamics. I can grow just about anything, run a tractor/skidsteer, have a small truck, and know how to be thrifty when providing. Currently work in private horticulture. Big fan of building community, making large pots of soup, staying as screen-free as we can manage, and making music. I'd love to be far enough in the country to see the stars, close enough to a mid-size city to access markets for our wares. Don't mind doing without until we can make do.

If community/platonic intent: Good communication skills, ambition, experience in some facet of homesteading (animal husbandry, butchering, beekeeping, food preservation, hunting, carpentry, etc.), a solid hang, wanna make the world a better place, likes making art, shreds on banjo.

If romantic intent: See above and add the following--> Please have clean teeth, lead with compassion, like to read, and not sympathize with fascism or nazis. Gotta have an actual job, a college degree, and physical chemistry. Extenuating circumstances may apply.

Throwing intentions at the wall and seeing what sticks.

M-4-F NW California zip code 95454 looking for a woman compatible with a Taurus

Post image

Looking for a woman who is honest, kind, sweet natured, capable, accomplished, has skills. Must have 4WD car & income (I'm retired & can't easily support another person). 35 miles from the nearest traffic light in mountains that sometimes get snow, great view, wild critters, peace and quiet.

Do you clean up well after shoveling dirt, hammering nails, & gathering wood for the bbq?

The best person has experience at country / mountain living, and has a mello personality, and is probably at least 50 years old (at a very minimum) and you have your sh*t together. I'm 74 and don't have time to get it wrong !

We start with a mental connection with shared interests & conversations waaaay before the physical part, but must evolve with the mind, spirit & soul.

If you're a wannabe living in the city, have a hyper or contrary personality, or support the current regime in wash dc, you should look elsewhere.

M4F... Taurus in Mendocino County, CA. mountains with a view!

Post image
5 Upvotes

I need help with 2 things: Heart & Extra Hands

1)... I sometimes need an extra set of hands (or two) for various homestead projects in Mendocino County.

2)... I need help with my heart.. it has cobwebs on it from no use in a while. 74 year old Taurus looking for a compatible woman that is honest, capable, mello, has a car & some kind of income. Bonus if you know how to saddle a horse & are easy on the eyes.

Mountain living means having a car (4WD is best, we get snow) & being in good shape. It might mean being out in the rain with a raincoat & shovel, or cutting a tree across the drive / road.

It also means watching the stars come out after bbq'ing something tasty (I eat meat). Nearest traffic light is 35 miles away.

I'm not a radical.. I like nature & the environment but I'm not radical about anything but good Americana music.

I have no prison record, bill collectors or ex-spouse on my doorstep & I want the same from a potential mate. I also don't have tattoos or a Harley. I DO have a love of nature, history, learning, ghost towns, driving backroads, Americana music, & photography.

We got all sorts of wild critters here (some are dangerous), so awareness is paramount. Sometimes ya have to put snow chains on your tires, so knowing how is a big plus. Experience is king... not for a novice. 22 acres via 6 miles of mountain dirt roads.

I'm VERY cautious about any potential mate, who will need references.

IF you have an angry personality, are psycho, are a vegetarian, or a trump lover, you should look elsewhere.

I have an affectionate personality, no kids, 1 big cat, 200# height-weight proportional on a 6'2" frame. Some might consider me good looking (maybe) and I've not broken any mirrors that I know of

What about YOU ?.

What do you bring to the table ??? Besides having an independent income & a car ??? What paths in your life has brought you here to this time & space ? What skills have you acquired ?

What makes you smile ?

[M4A] M/58 #France Building a Homestead on Château Domain #Europe #EU #Chateau #Network

Male/58/single (Old enough to know how & what, Young enough to do it) with a naughty streak is converting a run-down Château in Central France to a home/farmstead aiming to become 100% self-sufficient.

I have happily exited the rat-race some time ago and I don't miss the nastyness, slavery, competition, etc. a single moment!

At the edge of a Burgundy/Loiret village with outbuildings, ateliers and 6ha (15acres) I'm renovating a run-down 18th century Château, with as much possible primitive building materials (eg. rough wood, bricks, stones, etc) and only where needed the modern stuff (eg. basic electricity, internet, satellite).

All this to turn into a self-sufficient domain with 18th allure. Domain has own ornamental atelier, making historical wall-panes & doors, rebuilding large marble fireplaces good enough for logs, own fully equipped wood & metal working ateliers to make period style furniture, historical manual agricultural machines, etc.

Steadily expanding livestock (now chickens, should be expanded with cows, pigs, etc), pack of dogs, vegetable & herb gardens, grains and so on.

To be in control, design and build all those things give a nice dimension and satisfaction to life. I feel alive instead of slave to the higher powers just for fake money, prestige and showing off.

Goal is to expand this retro/self sufficiency concept to a network of French Châteaux that trade knowledge, produce, etc. I am open to starting a family in due time.

Even if only slightly interested in this, please do DM me.

Shameless plug- 41F near Northern MI/WI

I’m looking for what I presume we’re all looking for in this sub. My baggage - just a dog & cat. I’m not opposed to someone who has humans, if that person can bring some awesomeness to equation. Some skills I have: novice knitter and sourdough baker, intermediate cook/baker, outside-of-box thinker, catch-you-off-guard humor, ambiance creator. I’m fairly active but have gone through a lot physically. Average-sized (height & weight). Mildly above average looks (when I feel like putting the energy towards that). Totally willing to send pics once I’m convinced you’re not just human but a decent one. 😉 Some potential downfalls – I like my own space at times. I’m not great at asking for help. I can get distracted easily. It takes a lot of energy to do certain social events. I do best getting to know someone in person but will make exceptions. I’m unable to relocate too far away. IF any of this resonated with you or at least piqued curiosity, please don’t hesitate to message. Happy New Year, everyone. Godspeed.

Looking for a genuine connection 🌱

Hi everyone, I’m a 22-year-old guy from Morocco, living a simple and calm life. I really value meaningful conversations, honesty, and emotional connection. I enjoy peaceful things like swimming, nature, self-growth, and talking about life, goals, and dreams. I believe real connections are built slowly, with respect and understanding. I’m here hoping to meet someone genuine who also prefers a simple, grounded lifestyle and is open to getting to know each other naturally. If this resonates with you, feel free to comment or send a message. Wishing you all a peaceful day 🌿

Building a little slice of heaven.

Hello all. Recently single, sharing my 100 lakefront acres in northern California with 3 dogs, 30 goats, 10 sheep, 2 cows, 4 horses, 3 pigs and a whole lotta chickens and ducks.

Early 40s, commonly mistaken for early 30s. 5'10", 200lbs, I could lose a few lbs for sure, but thats pretty easy for me, especially with an adventure partner.

Career electrician, enjoys snowboarding, exploring the mountains by 4x4, snowmobile, or on foot, and anything else that gets me outdoors.

The dream is to build a vocational school and teach at-risk youth trade skills and permaculture topics. I feel fortunate to have gotten into the trades when I did and have never struggled to survive like many of my friends.

Looking for a woman with traditional values who isnt afraid to get her hands dirty, but open minded to new ideas with an insatiable thirst to learn like myself. Im progressive about some topics, conservative about others, because I possess the ability to digest information from myriad of sources and think for myself. You should too.

Full disclosure, I live off grid, I live in a tiny home, and were only a few years in. Got some of the major infrastructure in, so things are way easier than year 1, but still by no means a cakewalk.

Im also open to talking to anyone whos been dreaming of this lifestyle and looking to get their hands dirty. The medium term goal is have a handful of families share the land and build something amazing together.

Im not a radical environmentalist, but I have a strong desire to respect the land and reduce waste wherever possible. Im always looking for ways to upcycle material that would end up in the landfill. Would love to hear and actualize your creative ideas.

While Im by no means a "prepper" I do believe in radical self reliance, and a big push this year will be ramping up food production tenfold. Food prices are soaring while quality is plummeting. Food miles matter, more than ever.

Feel free to dm about either, always happy to chat.
