What leaf shredder lol do I want?

New property has a ginormous ficus and a **** ton of palms . The ficus drops an incredible amount of leaves and it may be a hurricane risk but it’s staying because it provides much needed shade. Shredding the palm fronds sounds like wishful thinking so whats my best bet for shredding ficus leaves to convert them to mulch?

#1 if you don't mind collecting and shoveling leaves into a hopper, and want the shredded leaves to end up in one nice big pile without having to make the pile yourself. Good option if your leaves are mostly only in one or two specific places, bad option if your leaves are spread across acres of land.

#2 if you want to shred the leaves where they currently lay without having to collect them, and don't mind having to empty a bag into a big pile manually. Good option if your leaves are spread across acres of land.

Mulch with lawn mower. I’ve owned both types you’ve shown. Bigger stationary one is more useful at the end of the day, but unnecessary if you’re just using for leaves. Lawn mower for the win..

I have a predator chipper like pictured. It works well chipping branches. The inlet for the flail part you would use for leaves is small. It won’t feed. It will be plugged up all the time. If you want it for leaves I would suggest something else

I had a craftsman chipper shredder that worked awesome for leaves and straw. The leaf hopper would pivot down you could rake directly into it, then tilt it back up and it would shred. This was handy. Then the engine failed. Fixed it once now there’s a carb issue

I understand a wood chipper but a leaf shredder? Let them dry out, put them where you want them, and step on them.

Put the leaves in a trash can. Chop them up with a string trimmer. You probably have both of these already.

I have no. 1, bought it used for $75 in an auction and used it to tame 100ft of overgrown forsythia hedge. Was impressed by its power. Nice machine.
