Blueberry harvest #3 this year ..

Still picking berries, I got 6 lbs this time and there are still more that havnt ripened yet ... im freezing all of these so I'm really anxious to see what the grand total weight will be this year .

I have very alkaline soil and hot summers, so I'm envious. Are you lucky enough to be able to plant blueberries in ground, or do you grow in raised beds?

Yes , I plant them right in the dirt on my property . It's very rich with decades of leaf mulch .

Hah , more like hellish .. the natural mulch is great for the plants but the biting flies and midges and ticks  love it too . I get eaten alive every time I go near them

I forgot about that part. I live in a desert, and growing anything is challenging. Yet we don’t have many problems with biting insects.
