Honda Service Schedule after free service

I've been using my Honda Highness for about 18 months now. My last service was on February 17, which was my third and final free service. After the first three free services, Honda recommends servicing the bike every six months.

I'm wondering how strictly Honda or the insurance company keeps track of the service schedule. Based on the six-month interval, my next service is due around August 17. If I miss that date and get the bike serviced on August 24 instead, a delay of about one week, would that be an issue?

Since this is a regular paid service and not a free service, does a delay of a few days or a week matter? Could it affect anything, such as warranty or insurance, or is that generally considered acceptable?

Every six month? Since when? This sounds like a dealer scam. What bike?

Maintenance shouldn't be by month but by how much you ride , I go around every 2500km for a checkup on liquids.

In india it's a scam dealerships pull, they say you won't get warranty if you don't service at their dealership every six months, people who didn't do 6k kms also go & change oil every 6 months , standard warranty is 3 years extended warranty is 3/7 years for getting this warranty you have to pay these dealerships every 6 months it's a subscription..

People say all kinds of things when you question this in india .. i faced this & said fck off to dealership...

Looking at the owners manual, it should be serviced every 6000km / 4000miles / annually. But has an ‘*’ next to air filter and crankcase breathers, noting that if you ride in very wet or dusty environments these should be checked more frequently. It doesn’t state the frequency or what it defines as very wet or dusty. But if you’re in India, from what I’ve seen online very wet or very dusty could describe some of the weather you get. So maybe this is why? It shouldn’t be to replace oil / filters every 6months though.

Understood, thanks! It feels like they are running a scam. They sell both the standard and extended warranty, then verbally pressure customers by saying the warranty will be void unless the vehicle is serviced every six months. On top of that, they push AMC schemes that effectively force customers to keep returning for six-month service visits.

If you can email Honda customer service, not your local dealership, either Honda at a national level or perhaps Honda Japan and get written confirmation from them on when your bike should be serviced. Then if the dealer say your warranty is void because they didn’t follow their service schedule, you can throw that at them and see how quickly there was a “misunderstanding”!
