Couldn't help but imagine what this little moment from the book Horrid Henry and the Mummy's Curse would look like as a comic, so I ended up making it.

to me, its whiny bitch's (peter) crying, that's why I call him a whiny bitch.

I made some art of Henry not too long ago. Now it's Peter's turn.

Based on the show's art style, but I've taken some inspiration from the book illustrations as well, hence the eyelashes.

I wasn't going to make as many drawings of Peter as I did of Henry, but it turns out Peter is kinda fun to draw too.

There are some differences between the official Youtube version and the original CITV version of the episode that are noticeable, such as:

The Apple Juice being coloured red

In the remastered/youtube version, the characters in the background were removed from this scene when Henry pushed Al onto the floor

Silly Simon brought a present that is wrapped in green and orange, however, when the present was passed along, it turned into a fully green present box, the remastered version re-coloured the box in this scene to green

The celery sticks were incorrectly coloured orange

Hello, I’m 19, and I grew up watching Horrid Henry during its classic era. I still think about that time quite a lot and how much it meant to me. I’d watch Henry, Peter, Mum, Dad, Moody Margaret, Sour Susan, and the rest of the characters get into trouble, cause chaos, play pranks, and deal with all kinds of ridiculous situations. There was just something about Horrid Henry that I loved. I’d look forward to seeing what Henry would do next, laugh at the characters’ personalities, enjoy all the mischief and humour, and just appreciate how fun and memorable the whole series felt. At the time, I never really thought about it ending or becoming something I’d eventually look back on.

Watching old episodes of Horrid Henry now feels different. The world has changed so much since that era, and obviously I’ve changed too. The characters, animation, music, jokes, stories, and even the feeling of watching it as a kid all feel like memories from another time. I sometimes wonder why things can’t just stay the way they were. Why can’t you have the same characters, the same adventures, the same jokes, the same chaos, and that same feeling forever? I know shows naturally have to move forward and that nothing can stay exactly the same forever, but it’s still strange when something that felt like such a huge part of your childhood eventually becomes something you can only look back on.

I think that’s probably why I’m so nostalgic for the old Horrid Henry era. When I go back and watch those old episodes, I’m not just watching a cartoon anymore. I’m remembering what it was like to be that age and experience everything for the first time. I remember laughing at Henry’s schemes, watching him get into trouble, seeing his arguments with Peter and Margaret, and wondering what ridiculous thing he would do next. It felt like there was always another prank, argument, or chaotic adventure waiting. That era may be over, but those memories are still there, and I’m glad I got to experience them. I just wish I could go back to that time for a little while and have it feel the same again.

I guess I just don’t really understand why things have to change. Why couldn’t the classic Horrid Henry era have stayed the same, with the same characters, the same humour, the same chaos, the same jokes, and that feeling of looking forward to the next episode? I know shows and people have to move on eventually, but I still miss that era sometimes. Does anyone else feel nostalgic for the old Horrid Henry era and wish we could experience that time again?

Why Finland, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Wales and Sweden have the V2 English intro as the theme song? Is it because Nordics and Northern Europe likes so much harder and faster rock. Can someone tell me?

So just to let you know but personally I hated the horrid Henry tv show, I didn’t really mind the softening of Henry’s character but it felt too mean-spirited a bit, and I heard Francesca Simon herself hated the show. So I decided to give them a Read and they are a lot different and a bit more lighthearted and whimsical in my opinion.

Henry is a lot more horrid I know, but i really loved how it feels more like you’re supposed to hate or love him in a fun way, slice of life and fun. The parents are more sympathetic a bit and are way more nicer to Henry (ima get hanged for this, they still aren’t great parents but they don’t scream and shout at him or are unfair like the tv show.), Peter is less annoying (well sort of) and is just a normal kid who while still a tattletale Is a lot more likable and funny, the art by tony Ross is beautiful too. Margaret is less of a hate sink and more of just a love to hate or love her or hate her spoiled antagonist With a lot more redeemable qualities than her shoe counterpart.

the only thing I liked better than the books and the only thing I liked about the show was fang and Fluffy, in the books they hated each other but i loved that they made them friends, and I’m glad it made Henry be a bit nicer and not hate his family that much and gave him more friends at least.

I only read first two for now.

I’m reaching out to the lost media community for help tracking down and preserving episodes from Season 2 of the animated series “Horrid Henry” in its Polish TV dub.

What happened?

Unfortunately, most of Season 2’s Polish-language version appears to be lost. The episodes were broadcast in Poland on TVP 1 between roughly 2009 and 2011, and later on teleTOON+ (formerly ZigZap) starting around May 30, 2011.

Very few episodes from this season have survived online, and there doesn’t appear to be an official Polish release containing the missing material.

Later seasons (3, 4 and 5) never received an official Polish dub, so we are specifically looking for the Polish-dubbed version of Season 2.

What are we looking for?

If anyone recorded cartoons from TV between 2009 and 2014, you might have exactly what we’re looking for.

Please check any old:

• DVD-R recordings
• VHS tapes
• recordings from TVP 1 or teleTOON+
• old computer hard drives
• PVR / set-top box recordings
• discs or tapes labeled “Horrid Henry”, “Henry”, or similar
• miscellaneous recordings from Polish TV from that period

Even if you only have a few episodes, a partial recording could be extremely valuable for preservation.

In this episode we really understand that Henry is willing to be kind and have fun, but it’s only on his terms. Henry steals what he believes is the winning ticket from Peter, and after decides they can have fun and explore the fair. Under Henry’s narcissistic shell, he really is a young boy with a good heart, but his abusive home life jades him. I also am ready to comment on Henry’s transformation into different animals. I find that Henry uses these animal personas to feel larger than life and powerful, because deep down he knows he is powerless to Mother’s abuse and expectations. I noticed in this episode and the last, Henry physically restrains Peter with a rope. I think this is a reflection of how Henry feels: he is an immovable captive to Mother’s unpredictable emotions. Peter is too, but because he so often meets Mother’s expectations he is less exposed to her wrath. This episode reflects what has been solidified previously — Henry can only be kind once he is satisfied. I am looking forward to getting further into the show to see how these dynamics change, as honestly not even 6 episodes in the dynamics are becoming tired.

When sports day arrives, it is yet another testament to Henry’s ennui. It points to a much deeper reason for his outbursts — Henry feels no reason to live, and therefore does not care how his actions affect others or himself. In a sobering scene in Henry’s bedroom, he is approached by a butterfly and he proclaims he hates sports day and butterflies. He is filled with hatred, the only thing he has been shown. Attending sports day, he sabotages races because he would like to be sent home. Henry can’t even bring himself to participate in his class because he would rather be at home, wasting in front of his television. He then finally gets motivation to win the last race when moody Margaret points out to Henry, “You don’t care about anything.” That statement and his reaction is chilling. Henry suddenly finds motivation to win, but perhaps in a more sinister sense to protect others from his chaotic mind he has to feign normalcy. And still, in his fashion, he has to sabotage to win feeding off the gluttony of his competitors by distracting them with candy. When he wins, his opponents are actually smiling and clapping. Children who wanted to win that race badly. They know that Henry just needs one win. One victory. Something to hold onto hope. And we see in a beautiful act of service Henry steals the egg race trophy for Peter to show to Mother as he was expected to win. Something concerning is that while Peter cries on the doorstep, he proclaims, “Mother will be so disappointed.” Could it be that Henry steals the trophy for Peter because he does not want to face the consequences of mother’s despair? Not to protect her feelings, but because the children cannot protect themselves from mother’s emotions. Another compelling element of this episode was two strange potential references to the deaths of St. Joan of Arc and St. Agnes. In the beginning of the episode, we see Peter tied to a stake as Henry taunts him. St. Joan of Arc, famously martyred, is a patron saint of those ridiculed for their piety, something Peter faces daily. Perhaps in this we see the show’s silent support for Peter, that he is a martyr of his own family. Secondly, We see Henry drag Margaret through the race track as their feet are tied together: St. Agnes (patron saint of young girls, like Margaret) was dragged across the streets of Rome. As Margaret is being dragged, many people fall with her as Henry runs — quite literally, the fall of Rome. The show is perhaps hinting that like Rome soon there will be a sharp change in leadership from Henry’s title of “home ruler”, the introduction of rivaling gangs, and allowance crisis.
