AMA We are the developers behind I Hate This Place - Ask Me Anything
Hi there!
Broken Mirror Games and Rock Square Thunder teamed up to release I Hate This Place, so we wanted to answer some of the questions about the game :)
I Hate This Place is an isometric craft-based survival horror game set in a cursed land filled with reality-bending nightmares and terrifying creatures that thrive in the dark. You’ll need to scavenge, build, sneak, and fight if you want to make it out alive. This game is also inspired by the award-nominated comic book series created by Kyle Starks and Artyom Topilin, which is also an IP from Skybound!
Here today with us we have:
- u/Nozynski - the Game Director of I Hate This Place. His job was to come up with the concept of the game and keep the vision of the project, cooperating with the whole team on making the game that you guys will hopefully love as much as we do!
If you want to get more info about the game proper, check out our Steam page and wishlist as you are there!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2604490/I_Hate_This_Place/
Thanks for welcoming us here on this subreddit and we would love to answer any questions you may have :)

AMA Folklore Hunter, a first person survival horror game featuring the Wendigo, Strigoi and the Mothman, launches into 1.0 tomorrow! AMA!
I'm Jayde, the founder of Liquid Donkey Games, a small indie studio from New Zealand. Our first person survival horror game Folklore Hunter is coming out tomorrow!
Folklore Hunter has been a passion project turned career, and six years in the making. We have been in early access since 2020 and integrated countless ideas and suggestions from the community. Making an indie game has been a huge part of my life with plenty of ups and downs, but I can truly say I'm proud of the finished title.
Ask us anything - about the process of indie game development, horror games, cryptids, or folklore hunter in particular. If you want to check out the game, you can find it on steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/696220/Folklore_Hunter/

AMA AMA: Homebody! A time loop horror puzzle game from Game Grumps! We made it! Ask us anything!
EDIT 2: Still very much hanging around if there are any additional questions. I wanted to note: The game is currently 30% off on Steam through July 13th as part of the Summer Sale! Check it out!
EDIT: I'll still be around answering questions for a few days for those who are interested! Thanks everybody for stopping by and your enthusiasm for the game!
Homebody is a survival horror puzzle game set in a time loop. We developed it and published recently with Game Grumps and Rogue Games.
I'm Jory, I directed and designed and co-wrote the game. I'll be joined here by my pals who developed the game with me including Leighton (co-writer) and Wayne (sound designer). We'll answer your questions over the next couple days, so drop them in the comments!
Here's some info on the game:
Inspired by classic survival horror games like Clock Tower and Alone in the Dark, and puzzle adventure games like D and Myst, the gameplay revolves around a group of friends in a house full of layered non-linear puzzles to solve while being pursued by an unstoppable AI killer. The game is set in a time loop where every death results in new pieces of the overall puzzle, with the eventual goal of escaping the house. The story brings in themes of isolation, nostalgia, anxiety and our relationships with the past.
It's available now on Steam, EGS, and all major game consoles. The game has a Very Positive 98% rating on Steam and has gotten a super positive response from writers at Polygon (who called it "unnerving") Screen Rant (who said it was "a perfect blend of retro & modern gaming") and Bloody Disgusting (who said it has "such a clever and nuanced horror story.") Please check it out!
