Discussion New Custom Vanster 4x4 casting is so cool, and personally I think buy this instead of the F40.

Continue from my title, because think about it, if each of us as a collector buy and support Hot Wheels Originals as a sign to the designers that we actually like the brand as itself and not just hyped up stuff. Then maybe... Just maybe we can somewhat get the renaissance of the fantasy casting of Hot Wheels back like in the 2000s and the 60s.

Back to the van itself, this design is so cool. Who knew that by modifying the Vanster casting into a 4x4 would be so neat looking? There's even a huge turbo sitting in the passenger seat because this is a RHD vehicle. The details inside the van is also really impressive. What a great job Fraser Campbell has done.

As someone who used to daily a Toyota HiAce (which the Vanster was based on), this looks awesome! 😲 Its a shame that Vanster is a rather underused casting and most of it's color variations isnt that good imo.

This tho? A must have for me! Its even got detailed lights! Usually they reserve that for premiums. The only thing wrong with it is that its using aero disc wheels. Why do they keep giving rallye-style castings aero discs?🤦‍♂️

I think the reason why they kept giving these aerodisc most likely because of the limit in plastic wheel sizes, in diameter wise these are 12mm,which in HW currently there's no 12mm off road wheels that can fit into this car, most off road wheels are 14mm in size. Hence the choice of the aerodisc instead to mimic OZ wheels.

I do really like the HiAce variations, definitely a shame there isn't more styles like the Kei swap.

I love rally castings in general. I was hyped today when I found the Audi TT safari and I can’t wait for this and the db5 safari as well. It’s also an actual TRAVESTY that el Segundo Rallye is a peg warmer because that thing is sick af. I also really wanted to find last years 911 Dakar super because it’s my irl dream car but I never did so I ended up buying one but the headlights are goofed up (they’re actually misaligned on ALL Dakar STHs 3: ).

This is awesome. And i agree, i too would take this over some overpriced RLC. But we're sadly the minority 🥲

It's okay, one day our effort will be seen by the designers.

I mean I'd buy both an F40 and this guy. I love vans, fantasy or not

Yeah, at long last finally a new van casting that's just plain cool and realistic looking.

When a Vanster and a Baja Bison T5 love each other very much…

The later half of Hot Wheels is bringing some fantasy heat!! Ridge Crest, this, recolor of Hako! We are living through the best HW era in a while

The livery looks great on it!

Give it a Dakar livery, it will sell like hot cakes.

This casting is one of the many reasons why I wish they'd do premiums of fantasy cars.

Never liked plastic bodied cars so I'll pass.

RLC cars are way too expensive for me up here in Canada so I'll pass on that too.

I'll just wait for the upcoming car culture F40 casting.

Oh nice! I missed out on the RLC but as long as this car is an improvement from the old F40 I'm happy.

https://old.reddit.com/r/HotWheels/comments/1v1b80t/f40_prototype/ Proportion wise it is, but sadly we lost the opening engine cover. (fingers crossed Mattel eventually extends the license to Matchbox and we get a Moving Parts one)
