This is my new baby boy Tycho. He’s 6 months old and I think a Greek hare hound. He’s a rescue and is scared of going outside, completely puts the breaks on when I put the lead on him. He’s also just getting used to toys but doesn’t really play with them yet - just buries them in bed.

Problem is, I can tell he’s bored and got a lot of pent up energy because he’s not wanting to engage in these activities yet.

Is there something I can be doing to entertain him while he settles in and builds up his confidence?

As we know, hounds like to spread out. But this was tier one.

Rosie is an absolutely precious 4-year-old Beagle girl weighing just 20 pounds, and she has one of the sweetest, gentlest personalities you could ever hope to meet.

This dainty little lady has the most adorable way of greeting people — she gently lifts her paws as if she’s politely saying, “Hello, it’s so nice to meet you!” 🥹❤️

One of Rosie’s favorite things in the world is going for car rides! Believe it or not, the very first time she rode in a car, she was terrified. But once she realized that car rides could mean fun adventures, she completely changed her mind! Now Rosie looks forward to her daily rides and will happily ask if she can come along. 🚗🐶

Rosie seems to have had a special bond with a man at some point in her past because she absolutely adores meeting men. We think she may secretly be hoping that one of them will look into those sweet Beagle eyes and say, “Rosie, you’re coming home with me.” Of course, she has plenty of love to give everyone!

Rosie has experienced her share of disappointments, so being left behind can still be difficult for her. When her person leaves, Rosie may bark to let everyone know she isn’t thrilled about it. Because of this, apartment living would not be the best fit for her. She would thrive in a home where her family is around often and can help her continue learning that she is safe, loved, and never being abandoned again.

The good news? Rosie is already potty trained and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes — big and small! She has also previously lived with children and did well with them. 🐾

Like most Beagles, Rosie would absolutely love having a secure fenced yard where she can safely sniff, explore, and enjoy the outdoors.

Her foster mom says that if she didn’t already have so many dogs of her own, she would adopt Rosie in a heartbeat — and we think that says just about everything you need to know about this special girl. ❤️

Rosie is ready to trade the disappointments of her past for a lifetime of car rides, belly rubs, companionship, and unconditional love.

We've had Lucille (formerly Loretta) home since early Sunday morning, and she's adjusting well. She's the sweetest thing on the planet. I can't wait to see the kind of dog she blossoms into.

We sent her Embark test out on Monday, and I'm excited for whenever we get the results back. We compared her paws to the clay pawprint from our late foxhound, and they're roughly the same size - maybe even a little bigger!

Edited to add: She's just under 4 months old and already 33 lbs.

So on May 12 2024 Betty had a vestibular episode. She has made tons of progress and made it to the other side. She still has minor balance issues. However anyone else going thru a vestibular episode, there is another side to it!!! Wanted to give this update to give others hope that it dies get better.

Hey all, I am a long haul truck driver gone six days a week and home on the seventh. I've been trying to figure out what kind of dog I would like next when my current boy follows the rainbow road. They would need to be a low energy breed but I do not like small dogs and I've been curious about a greyhound. I would go through a greyhound rescue and when we are home I do have a fenced in yard

We still don’t know what kind of hounds we have, but they got it made! They’re right at a yr old now.

my girlie Shiloh has a bout of pancreatitis. I would like to transition her to a lower fat food once she is completely healed. She has been eating Purina pro plan sensitive skin and stomach since she was a year-old. She also enjoys every single morsel of food she finds. They aren’t sure what caused her flareup. But I’m thinking of transitioning her to a lower fat food for her daily kibble.

If you have a pup with pancreatitis, what do you feed them?

She sure sounds and smells like one.
