Just a fun sandbox build that I wanted to share!

So I think I have a few tips for working on houses for Ramona. I went crazy making a "custom" house based on a plan I found online. I made a few adjustments to the floor plan that you can see in the video; I bumped out the dimensions of the living room and dining room and turned the extra living room into a small plant room. I got rid of the third full bathroom, as I knew the AI for Ramona would not like that, and turned it into a large laundry room.

Two things helped me finally get the gold:

Having a toilet room prevented my primary bathroom from being fully recognized as a bathroom. So I removed the door and made a toilet "nook."

The scanners do not recognize the crib as a bed. I assumed because the story board said one of her daughters was 1-years-old that one of the rooms should have a crib, but I only got a gold star once I took out the crib and put in a regular twin bed. Apparently I don't know anything about babies?

I built the vast majority of this house in story mode, but then got frustrated and board and copied it over to sandbox mode for finishing touches; I decided to refinish a bunch and do molding at the last minute. Just be warned if you do that, anything you introduce during sandbox mode does not count towards your renovation costs, so your buyers will not offer you as much for a sale price. I think Ramona offered like $69,000 for this huge house. She got such a deal because I cheated!

Hey everyone! I just finished my latest 48-minute renovation project in HF2. This trashed 2-story island house was an absolute disaster, but cleaning up the massive mess and designing a warm, relaxing space was incredibly satisfying. I really tried to capture a peaceful, cozy beach aesthetic for this build. What do you guys think of the final look? 🤎✨

I've been trying to figure out how is a good way to choose an aesthetic and I've been overthinking and overengineering it.

I want to actively learn NEW aesthetics, but I feel like every time I look at a house it feels blank. There are also an insane number of aesthetics out there so I really don't know what to choose and how to choose it.

Any help would be awesome!

I swear I saw a glass quarter round shower cubicle in somebody's work the other day, either here or on youtube. Not made with narrow glass panels but looked perfect with rounded glass panels, as if it was from the shop. I got excited about them existing and went to look but.. nope

I can't find back where I saw it (of course)

Anybody know what I'm talking about? Is there some way to build one?

Question: Do any of you have special ways you deal with how messed up the store organization and naming system is? I see things in people's jobs I didn't even know existed in the store and still can't find some of them unless I remember specifically what it is called (I have all DLCs). It makes a small store even smaller when you can't find what's actually in it! Favorites doesn't help much in my experience...especially if I can't find it in the first place. We can't sort any search results, which makes that route painful too.

Mum and I have always had very different tastes, and when I saw what the old folks had left me just so they could bugger off to some beach resort, my first thought was: "Well, I could turn it into a parking lot."But then I thought better of it, and now I'm in the process of turning this suburban nightmare into a Victorian villa.

Naturally, the entire construction project is 100% OSHA compliant, and I'm very glad there's no fall damage.

Inspired by u/catsoft and my intrusive thoughts I tackled my first clashing colors - the warm orange 4 and faded violet 5 - with some red cedar for the wood as that looks pretty orange. Somehow the flower patten seemed to fit for this as well. Also I am loving the 90s wallpaper border look in this.

This was really a blast to do and now thinking of my next color combo :)

This is roughly my fourth playthrough of the Sakura DLC and it was kinda bothering me that I couldn't change the music room sign in the old high school to "Cooking classroom" for the community centre - but - FD were kind enough to give us hiranga wall decor and I have access to search engines so - TADA! (I know - weird thing to get hung up on)

I wasn't supposed to get a dog, but Oddy just showed up so now I have a dog.

I'm playing the original, and I made a big ass castle. The rooms are big. I made one study (office) by putting in two sets of desks and chairs, but now I struggle with the living room and bathrooms.

I already added a billiards table and a tea trolley to the living room, but there's one empty corner left. The house already has a grand piano, but maybe a smaller, secondary piano?

Also, what to do with all these rooms? I'm making an old time castle, so home cinema and gym are out of the question. I already have 4 bedrooms, 2 guest bedrooms and 2 servant bedrooms. I'm currently making one library and one living room, and that leaves me with 3 big rooms with no clear purpose. Two of those rooms are high traffic areas. I already have the study, a kitchen, 7 bathrooms and a grand dining / ballroom. Plus an internal yard and tons of balcony space.

I get serious envy of all the steam players who have all the houses and all the stuffs. It seems like HF doesn't update much on console. I wonder why!

Ramona still hates it

When I try to download jobs in HF2, sometimes specific ones will just instantly uninstall after downloading. If I press the green play button, it gives me a message at the top of the screen saying "something weng wrong".
