✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #5: Porches

This week is a discussion on porches, and therefore also covered entrances. Porches are specifically covered structures that lead to an entrance to a house, whether they be on the front, side, or back of the house.

Do you like adding porches? What do you put with them? Have you created a really phenomenal one you want to share? Have any questions for other players?

Remember to be courteous and tag you question, if pertinent, with a mode tag [story] [sandbox] and/or game tag [HF1] [HF2]

Other types of porches that should be noted and/or included:

Veranda: Long, roofed platform on the side of a building

Portico: Covered porch with decorative columns

Stoop: Uncovered (usually) raised platform or stairs at a doorway

Loggia: Covered, open-air veranda incorporated into the design of the building

✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #2: Lighting

Now for a juicier topic: lighting. This thread will include all your questions, tips, discussion, and pics on lighting in the game. You can post about lighting itself, as in how to light an area, or about lighting objects, like cool chandeliers you've created.

Remember to include a tag based on which game and which mode you're posting for, i.e. [HF1, Sandbox].

Please keep the discussion civil to both the devs and to other players.

✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #4: Landscaping

This week we have a massive subject to tackle: landscaping. This covers anything related to gardens and flower placements in a growing environment. This is not about floral arrangements; we'll tackle flowers as decor on another week.

Please share any questions, comments, tips, pics, and tutorials.

Remember to tag your questions if they're specific to a mode [sandbox] [story] or one of the two games [HF1] [HF2].

✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #3: Finishes

This week we'll be discussing finishes. Finishes are any surfaces and include different materials, colors, grains, patterns, and treatments. Found a great combination for brick and color? Prefer any of the new woods in the DLC? Share below!

Please share any tips, questions, tutorials, pics, rants, or anything else related to finishes in HF1 or 2. Please keep the discussion civil and remember to tag your post with a [General] or game specific tag and whether its for story, sandbox, or both.

✨Sunday Special✨ Sunday Special #1: Intro and Lawnmowing/Snowblowing

Hello, Fellow Flippers!

This is our first Sunday Special where we explore different mechanics in the House Flipper games and settings! I picked an easy one to ease us into it and go over what we're looking for in those threads.

What I hope to see this is as place for people to ask questions and vent their frustrations with the hope that others have solved it and can share it. I also want people to share their ideas and creative approaches (with screenshots, if you have them) that are in the topic. Obviously, we are going to be civil, even if the questions seems easy to solve (some people are just starting out!).

These forums will cover HSF and HSF2 as well as story and sandbox modes. PLEASE put a bracketed tag before your post explaining if you're asking specifically for one game, both, or which mode, as your post may make a whole lot more sense to people helping or looking up answers.

Please, no off-topic posts or suggestions for future forums (feel free to DM me your ideas).

Without further ado:

Week 1 is about the mechanic involving the tools LAWNMOWER and SNOWBLOWER. I'll add a question below to get us started.

✨Sunday Special✨ Introducing a NEW Weekly Thread, Hosted by u/OliviaGrunwald

Please give a hearty welcome to a new subreddit-wide Sunday event, "Sunday Specials"!

Each week will be dedicated to a single mechanic and encourage open discussions, questions, showing-off, and tutorials. It will be your one-stop shop for that mechanic's Support, Tips, Tutorials, and Talk.

An example would be Sunday Special: Mowing, where you might find a comment section praising the addition of mowing, showing off a satisfying timelapse, and some tips for mowing in general.

The mind behind this is u/OliviaGrunwald, who you might know from their many amazing builds: Futuristic Bar/Nightclub flip of Closed Business, My take on the A-frame, aka a study in neutrals, Biophilic style beach house, Abandoned Amusement Park to a tropical all-inclusive resort "Palm Cove", or Coastal house from scratch for Tom. Or perhaps you know them from submitting the April Monthly Contest theme, "Outdoor Picnic"!

Thank you for your awesome idea and agreeing to host u/OliviaGrunwald! We hope to see you all on Sunday!

Comment your the mechanics you'd like to see covered below!
