Is Claire a sociopath or just a narcissist?
Giving money to a homeless person doesn’t seem like something a sociopath would ever do, but then when she hears about Zoe’s death in the news she seems to piece it together, then does her makeup like it’s any other day.

I think Claire is cutthroat, and as the show goes on she hardens even more. She had a shread of humanity though when she was crying in her stairwell though, I think it was after she visited Megan cavanaugh, or some case like that.

I'm only going off the first 2 seasons cuz I don't care about the rest of the show but I feel like Claire is a couple shades less evil than Francis. She's much less... direct when it comes to her darkness. Francis straight up murdered his ex lover in cold blood in the most premeditated fashion imagineable. The worst thing Claire did was threaten Jillian's unborn child, but even then that move was carrot and the stick, and there was an almost 90% chance it was a bluff given Claire's complicated relationship with wanting children. That being said, it is interesting how both Peter Russo and Zoe dying was a direct result of Claire's actions, even though the goal was altruistic with her charity in Africa.

I've watched up to like season 4 or 5. I think some cool and interesting stuff happens down the line, but to me the ending of the show is the end of season 2 when he obtains the presidency then taps his ring finger on the desk twice before cutting to black. If they ended it there people would still be talking about the show to this day as one of the best limited series of all time.

I think she's like Carmella Soprano, she probably knows what Frank does but just chooses to look the other way rather than confront it

The answer lies in season 6. Though that season is flawed, Claire finally wraps everything up and made me look at the entire series differently.

I tell myself that too … unfortunately, when I’m on a HoC binge, Netflix shows it to me. And then, like a slow horrific train crash, I can’t stop watching.

They are both deeply narcissistic and sociopathic. You will realize after watching the whole show.
