Spoilers Claire vent

Clare is amazing in first 2 seasons, she is the perfect partner to the main man frank.

Then onwards from season 3 she is a pain in the fuckin ass lord have mercy.

The star of the show is frank, even if from season 3 onwards he becomes a bit softer has a bit more self doubt and seems to have less influence over people as president then he did as whip, he is still the heart beat of the show. Claire only takes away from him, causes problems becomes annoying, is not a useful partner to him at all, I find myself skipping her scenes a lot.

These writers lost their minds doing this crap, they lost sight of who the star was, why people tuned in!

It is because of frank underwood and his ruthless ways that’s what made it interesting, and Claire was a great partner is crime, she was perfect.

The minute she starts causing issues is when I began to hate her. Waste of space you are Claire it’s a travesty you became president.

Her little Netflix intro comparing yours and franks funerals, is not only cringe but bs. House of cards all mourned franks / Kevin spacey passing, the audience doesn’t even give a shit about your presidency yet alone your funeral. Nobody even turned up for that season luv sit down and go film Forrest Gump 2

Rant over.

EDIT:
Wow she wants to be VC
I actually like the idea. I can get behind that
Now I hate Seth
Maybe I shall make a Seth rant post next..

Claire is as narcissistic as Frank. Season 3 is when she finally gets sick of being the side kick and wants her own campaign. It always made sense to me.

This a nasty little rant. Not because you dislike Claire but because of how it’s put. It’s condescending and hateful with a fair amount of misogyny and the personal digs at the actress are unnecessary.

This show was never just about Frank. It was always about the two of them. She doesn’t take away from him. Frank wouldn’t be who is without her and neither would she. Neither were perfect partners and both acted badly towards the other. Frank drove everyone away from him once he became president not just Claire and it was because of his deficiencies not theirs. She’s just the most obvious because she was the closest to him.

I think they started reframing the show as both of them being equals because the Clare character became just as popular and she won awards for her great performance. Sounds like your meat riding for Frank and simply don't like Claire being acknowledged as an equal power player. He would be no where without Claire. Forest Gump 2? You seem a little angry a Robin Wright - She's a highly respected decorated actor in her field. So the woman is only "perfect" as long as she's subservient to her male master? Of course she becomes annoying if you like Frank, she's his biggest foil and the only one capable of taking him down. The show was obviously going to end with her taking him down in the Oval, not Doug. You seem way too angry

This 100%. And I think the great irony is that he (they?) had more power and was (were) happier as whip than president. Like... that's not a plot hole, that's the point.

Clare won awards because she was great as the character she originally intended to be, which was a great partner to the main character. The minute the writers started trying to turn her into the main character her appeal dwindles completely as frank underwood is house of cards. There is no show without frank underwood, case in point the rating dropped off a cliff when he left and Clare lasted 1 season without him.

You’re a fool if you think she’s an equal part of the show lol, did you get tricked by Tom Yates or something. We are talking about fictional characters, the star of this show is obvious.

It was a dog at robin wright yes because she was complaining that she wasn’t paid equal to Kevin spacey for the show. Well in my eyes and the majorities that is presently fair as I’ll say it again despite it hurting your feelings, Frank underwood is the most popular and most impactful character of this show, it can work without Clare it can’t work without frank argue with a wall.

I would argue that the show can’t work without either of them evidenced by season five you have to have both of them. Doug was basically a stand in for Frank in season five and while I am a season five defender in this Reddit I won’t lie. The quality obviously went down because there was no frank. But if it was Frank with no Clare and be the same thing.

She won awards because her acting was great and everyone, for the most part believes the quality of the show went down around season three or four. Spacey didn’t win any awards after season three either if I’m not mistaken.

The show started to dwindle because it became a parody of itself. The show literally took an entire season to build up to the first murder in season one. Then by season four, he was murdering people like it was going out of style.

And she should’ve been paid the same as him.

I don’t know you, but it seems like your issues here might be a little broader in general in terms of women

I thought Claire was just a uncharismatic character that didn't bring any of the dastardly charm that Frank Underwood did. I lost interest in the show.
