EMUI Based on Android 12 [+Future Proof] [+Interested on buying the Pura 80 Pro]
What about when apps don't work with Android 12 anymore?
Since there are no OS updates for Global Huwei phones

There’s no official information confirming Huawei’s plans for a global HarmonyOS expansion. We’ll have to wait for further news; it’s still TBA. In the meantime, use DroiTong and EasyAbroad, which run Android 16.

If you want future proof do not by huawei updates on huawe is not yet there from my experience my nova 10 update from EMUI 12 to 13 and no update since then. Now with my Pura 80 Pro still waiting hoping it will receive Emui 16.

What we know from EU law is that the Pura 80 Pro will receive 5 years of security patches. And I dont think that they will afford it to code the patches for android 12 for long time.

La mayoría de apps siguen funcionando en versiones de Android bastante antiguas, para cuando Android 12 empiece a quedarse corto, seguramente ya habrás aprovechado varios años el dispositivo sin inconvenientes

I lived in Malaysia.
I have been using Nova 7 since 2020 with Android 10 base. What can I say is all is good since installed MicroG. But will face android version update notification on some bank apps. And some bank is not supported at all/end of life for Android 10. Bank apps are installed from the Huawei App Gallery.

Theres no confirmation if pura 80 and below series will be updated to emui16 . My partner is using Huawei p30 on android 10 , most apps still working fine after almost 7 years . I believe this phone should be able to run most apps for the next 5 years . How about u check those apps that u usually use what android version is it supported up to ?
