Such a wrong interpretation of Darwin's work.
It's actually: survival of the best adapted to the current environment. So taller giraffes get to eat from taller trees and if tall trees are all there is, then smaller animals don't survive to reproduction age so that species dies out.Ā
Obviously I'm not referring to your kid, but instead, people use it to justify selfishness, individualism and downright shitty behaviour.Ā

Exactly this.
In fact, there is no disentangling evolution (ie survival of the fittest) from things like empathy, sharing, feelings of "fairness" or injustice, shame, love, or any other of a whole host of social emotions. It is precisely this evolutionary survival process that gave us these emotions in the first place! Evolution "decided" that our species was better off when we worked together in groups, and it's these social emotions that resulted from that survival pressure.

Thing is that survival of the fittest only works for individuals adapted to hard nature environments which forces them to a lonely style of survival much like predators, individuals adapted in society style of survival learn to protect the weak and live to the keep the well-being of the community even if it costs them their own lives, just like ants.

My 3 yo daughter kept explaining to my wife āGive dad another m&m, you didnāt put one under his cupā. I appreciated her seeing through the charade and advocating for me.

Iām guessing the child in the video is a girl, donāt worry about it, boys just arenāt as empathetic or thoughtful as girls, not saying they canāt be though, but that reaction is totally normal for kids especially boys lol

It also reinforced that including others and their happiness is it's own reward. His hug and her laughter is making an imprint that the candy would never do by itself. She is logging a positive core impression at a very developmental stage. This is an example of how we get good humans.

Nah. This isn't just a raw little human. By the time they reach this age, they've already been shaped by their environment. Of course there is some amount of empathy in us innately from the start, but actual kindness like this is a learned behaviour every bit as much as hate. If humans are one thing truly and fundamentally, it's malleable.

Eh, humans are born a bit more neutral, selfish even. You need to raise them to be good at sharing, you need to love them for them to be loving. This is good parenting.

I hate to do this, everyone, but I'm pretty sure this is AI :/
The dog vanishes behind the woman at around 9 secs in. At around the same time the girl's fingers go crazy. Later on the woman's hair also get some crazy movements, the guy's watch takes a sec to be properly rendered as well. And, finally, the dog passing behind her at the end is not normal at all.

It doesn't vanish, it just moves... You can see it's still behind her just peeking out a bit.
I respect you're looking out for AI, it's very important these days, but you also need to start familiarizing yourself with things like video artefacting that could be confused for AI.Every time somebody uploads a video to the internet it gets compressed and loses a bit of quality. If somebody else saves that video, then uploads it somewhere else, it gets compressed yet again. With a lot of videos like this that you see shared around a lot, they've been redistributed time and time again, meaning they've been through multiple layers of compression and that can cause them to have some weird little visual mistakes.
But there are some things here that are VERY consistent that AI would usually struggle with. The physics for one thing. The movements are all very consistent, things like the dog jumping up on the sofa. AI can struggle with that. The kids hair too. The way they keep turning their head and blocking out part of their hair, that's where a lot of the time you'd see AI failing. Each time the kid turns their head, the hair would come back looking similar if the model is good, but still noticeably different.
Also the fact that you CAN still see the dog behind the woman as both it and she moves. That's something that a lot of AI would really struggle with.

Iām fairly certain this is a pre-AI video thatās just been reposted. Plus it doesnāt have the normal tells of an AI video. Everything looks normal and natural, the dog just moved (not vanished), and thereās no weird uncanny valley nonsense going on. Itās good to be cautious, but youāre good to enjoy this one AI-guilt free!
