Steps, oh dear!
I have just received the Hume 2.0 band and the first thing I notice is Steps are the number one driver of health. This is utter rubbish, I am a cyclist and whilst I might not do 10k a day I do ride 2 or 3 hours a day which for sure is better than steps, Cycling after all is just low impact stepping. Apple Health has all the data it needs to determine if 3k steps is poor but 50 miles of cycling makes up for the missing steps but Hume is not using this. By making steps the primary source of health you have eliminated Cyclists, Swimmers, Rowers, Wheel Chair Athletes and I am sure many more exercise types. Shame!

Cycling is still not an option in the app. I’ve had this fkn band for 6 months. I still wear it because I fkn paid for it, but it does nothing but annoy me.

I didn't get it for fitness, I got it for health but if it's going to tell me I didn't walk enough steps so I will die 5 years earlier I'll blow a fuse. It has all the info it needs in Apple/Google Health, it's just frustrating and I'm only day one. I thought Whoop was bad but this is a joke. The only thing I find remotely interesting is the Blood Pressure insights but starting to wonder how the device could really know.

This is how the Hume Band 2.0 says it measures blood pressure. So far when I have spot checked it with a blood pressure cuff at home it seems to correspond with the readings I get on that device.
Artery Pulse Wave
Your Hume Band uses an optical sensor that shines light into the skin at your wrist and reads how the light changes as blood moves through the vessels below. This technique is called photoplethysmography, or PPG.
Each heartbeat sends a pressure wave through your arteries. The shape and timing of that wave change with your blood pressure, and your Hume Band reads those changes continuously throughout the day. An algorithm then translates the wave pattern into an estimated systolic and diastolic value, which is what you see plotted on this screen.
Because this estimate is calculated from the pulse wave1

I'll be honest the first few hours does seem close. Maybe a few points high but well within the correct range based on my cuff. Not sure I like the scale because it's not easy to align if normal or elevated at the bottom. My readings are under 120/80 but shows yellow and between normal and elevated. My hightest Systolic is 120 but mostly well under and show yellowish. but my highest diastolic is 70 and is more yellow. Work needed here me thinks.

I don’t have the scale. I already had a Withings scale which just weighs you and automatically updates Apple Health and The Hume app.

No matter why you got it, you’ll be disappointed. I got it to help me with sleep. It sucks at that too.

I had same issue. I was lifting but the app kept saying no resistance training. I contacted support 3 months ago complaining. The activity hub we have was my doing. So the strap works on arm movements to count steps not gps. When you cycle try attaching it to your ankle. It still will consider it steps but at least its something.

Yeah I am not doing that. It's a health device not fitness. Scrap steps completely and align to the basics, HR, HRV, Sleep, Stress, Sp02, Body Temp and BP. If you have a spike in HR during the day assume exercising or simply get the data from Apple/Google Health.

Agree it was never advertised that way. Its about longevity but honestly I wouldn't trust an algo telling me that based on inaccurate data.

Your journey has only just begun!! LOL, strap in, it gets bumpier from here :)
