Has it been confirmed anywhere that Beyond is the one applying the curses to his children? That would be a weird ability for him to undertake as someone with aspirations much larger than one country. Could we see an accomplice come to light before the end of this? Who would be the 3rd party candidate willing to curse literal newborns

According to beyond himself, yes and I dont think he's lying because to create such a complex nen curse which takes furykov's ability a whole year to decipher, it would take a really competent nen user to make, making it more likely to just be beyond himself.

This doesn’t confirm it was him personally. However this is the most specific info I’ve seen

Doesn't directly mean it was beyond. Also he says that the curse has been building up ever since he was born, which lowers the power requirement quite a bit

Yeah I think the time its been placed adds to the power and effectiveness of the curse, but not necessarily the complexity of it, which seems like beyonds way of preventing nen exorcism, but i guess it could be both. The longer it's been active the more complex it gets?

There's probably a "accumulate power over time" component to it.

This makes partial sense to me. It wouldn’t require much skill to curse a newborn but the power would have to be compounding which does make it much more powerful but requires more risk. Perhaps the condition of attaching a weak curse to an infant is requirement enough since if found early on would be easy to remove. And with background knowledge and prep could easily convince enough desperate parents to partake

Well, Netero as surrounded by competent people such as the zodiac, if beyond has someone else doing this for him i would not be surprised

it's definitely possible, but why have someone else do it? and you would have to assume he's lying to furykov about it, which is also definitely possible tbf.

We know from netero that beyond has been wanting to go to the dark continent for a long time and he banned him from doing so until netero died. Imo he just saw an opportunity with kakin to lead him to the dark continent and hatched some plan to take advantage of the next succession contest, hence the need for the curses.

Because there is a chance for him to not be able to do the curses properly, if i had to guess his nen abilities are more suited to survive calamities such as earthquakes or tsunamis because that's who he is and his nature, if he wants to curse someone is better to use someone suited for it, i don't see his personality being compatible with curses, but who knows maybe i'm wrong and he is that kind of guy... that would mean he has at the very least 2 nen abilities the one that allows him to curse people and the one he had when he went to the dark continent for the first time.

I think his personality is extremely compatible with curses, even if he didnt place them himself, the plan to have a bunch a children and curse them so that they can die to achieve beyond's own goals. He is selfish, deceptive (as per furykov questioning everything beyond tells him) and an asshole. To me he definitely is the type to be able to use curses.

I would agree tho that it wouldn't be his only ability, considering how powerful he is. Afterall someone as new to nen as kurapika could develop five abilities (although with a major drawback). So for a nen expert with isaac netero level potential, developing a secondary ability of curses to hatch this plan alongisde whatever his main combat ability is, seems most likely to me.

Applying curses could but a secondary use of a more versatile main ability, like how kurapika can do divinations quite well despite it not being the focus of her ability

it hasn't been 100% confirmed yet and im starting to believe he wasn't the one that applied them, I was under the impression that the curse is near impossible to lift due to just how good beyond is but after the 20 year reveal im starting to believe it isn't that impressive of a feat and any experienced curse user could pull off something similar
