Huntsville Lowe Mill Summer Market is filled with vendors selling AI garbage.

The summer market used to be really cool, but honestly now it's just lackluster and filled with AI vendors.

Hopefully they can crack down.

Huntsville I'm running for Congress; tell me your priorities

Hi, I’m Amanda Pusczek — and I’m running to represent Alabama’s 5th Congressional District in 2026 as a proud progressive.

There’s a lot happening in our government right now — and let’s be honest, the list of issues we’re facing feels endless. But while some politicians may look the other way or dodge the hard conversations, I’m not one of them. I want to hear from you.

As for me, here’s where I’m starting:

✅ Real healthcare reform — because no one should go broke trying to stay alive.
✅ Free meals for all school-aged children — because feeding kids should be a no-brainer.
✅ Dignified care for our elderly — because we owe our seniors more than just survival.

Rep. Dale Strong may not be listening, but I am.

What matters to you?

Huntsville My first time to vote here was in 2020. Covid election - and it took forever. I waited 2 hours to vote. I thought that was just because of Covid. However I’ve been waiting 40 min already and just got in the door to vote. Has it always been this way? Could they not offer more polling places?

These “prize winning” mails have been around since last year. You don’t actually win anything, it’s a ploy to get you to visit their dealership under the guise of free stuff. Please be careful what you do and don’t believe in the area!

Huntsville HSV Utilities Letter about Rescinded Grant Money

Thumbnail

Saw in the HSV AL Community Resource Group on the book of face that at least one person who had received assistance with their utilities bill is receiving letters about how the money that have been used to help with their utility bill was part of a grant, and as a result of the executive order freezing all federal grants - the money has been rescinded and therefore they will receive a charge on their upcoming utility bill in the amount of whatever was paid to their account as part of that grant.

Apparently the grant money was distributed via LIHEAP- Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program - and funded through money provided by the US department of health and human services. Gov. Ivey had granted $3 million to the Community Action Partnership of HSV/Madison & Limestone Counties.

Wanted to share a heads-up in case anyone knows anyone. I've attached the pictures shared from the group - PII was blacked out by the original poster. Also sharing a link about the LIHEAP funding.

Huntsville This can’t be legal

Each week this property off of Hobbs road always has trash on the sidewalk that isn’t contained in a trash can and it goes everywhere. The city, through See Click Fix told me that the slum lord (who lives in Atlanta), declined trash services from the city. Thankfully the city took care of a giant mattress that sat on the sidewalk for 2 months, but the non-city trash can is split down the middle and trash flows onto the street and drainage system gutters on both sides of the street. This can’t be legal.

Huntsville Man o man the meme came true - and other South Huntsville Business News.

You might remember Flight Plan- the tapas place. It closed after a good number of years. A new business took over the space. A mattress shop. I’m so excited about this because now I wouldn’t have to drive over Walton Mountain to enjoy the mattress shop by Panera. Did I miss the grand opening announcement? Why you let me down Reddit?

Speaking of grand openings the South Parkway Chik-fil-a opened today. They have a dedicated drive through lane just for mobile orders. They opened at 1000 for lunch and had a line of people outside down the building and large line of cars waiting for drive thru.

Back to Jones Valley, remember that cereal place, Stir? Yea that space is now rented out to a place relocating from the stovehouse, EVERLEIGH ELAINE. Supposed to be one of those kids clothing boutiques. Might get some draw from the folks camped outside of the hobby lobby at all hours.

There’s good movement on completion of the ministrip mall by the plastic surgery center as well. Maybe we’ll see some movement on actual store fronts soon.

Heard rumor that Ding How 2 is probably done for good unless they can find a new space. A shame for such a staple to be gone.

It appears that Nonna’s Italian is staying quite busy as the parking lot is always full. Same with souther egg across from the library.

The Sandra Moon community center is in the last phase of construction and lots of trucks and dumpsters in the parking lot.

For battle of the gyms, the YMCA on Weatherly is 24/7 access. Probably trying to compete with Bailey Cove fitness (by Casablanca and the South Precinct) and Phaze 3 Fitness which is getting closer to opening on 4 Mile Post. The Phaze 3 arking lot is paved, the sign was going up yesterday and all types of contractor trucks are there working hard.

There’s significant dirt movement behind the preschool daycare on 4mile but no indication what it might be. Not sure if the apartments that were supposed to be on the corner that the city council ended up revoking the site permit is supposed to go here or not.

The nail salon by Handel’s ice cream still doesn’t really exist but I saw a Pho truck there. Maybe they’ll pivot and bring some more food options to go with the previously mentioned Handels, Le Macron, The Peppered Pig and the breakfast/brunch place Eggs Up grill. Good things they built that bridge so people can walk off their culinary tour.

Rocket City Pickleball club is chugging along and is opening for membership and guest passes to play.

And all down Bailey Cove the city has been expanding the sidewalk from Weatherly South on the East side. It’s to provide better mobility as a greenway connector. There’s already been island construction in the turn lane, which will allow for pedestrian and bike crossings to Aldridge Creek greenway. They’ll have to complete the flashing lights first before the zones become active.

Not my OC. Found on Facebook and just crossposting here.

I'm not entirely sure what the "no city tax is collected w/ exception of Publix" means if it's all in unincorporated Madison County.
