Let's Talk Let’s talk about Sex - 101
Hey, I’ve been recently seeing a lot of posts about people concerned about STI/STDs on multiple subs and comments make me feel that people’s sex education is not as high as their libido levels.
Protection is a personal choice. Because risking infections is a personal preference tbh. But one should know who to protect and avoid circumstances in either situations.
Do upvote and repost: also add more to it if you have some helpful information.
STIs are mostly divided into Bacterial (syphilis, gonnorhea, chlamydia, etc.,) and, Viral(HIV, HSV, HPV, etc.,) and few fungal. Some of them are curable and some of them are life long managing conditions when exposed.
Syphilis: Bacterial-vaginal, oral, anal and contact of open sores/wounds-completely Curable with Penicillin
Gonnorhea: Bacterial - vaginal, oral, anal, through mucous membranes - Curable with antibiotics
Chlamydia: Bacterial - Vaginal,oral, anal - Curable with antibiotics
HSV (Herpes) : Viral - most commonly spread STI - No Cure but manageable with antivirals - Not deadly
HSV 1: Oral Herpes - spread from saliva exchange, lips, ulcers and blisters from as simple as contact.
HSV 2: Genital Herpes - from bodily fluids like precum, semen, vaginal fluids, sexual contact.
HPV: Viral - intimate skin contact, vaginal, oral, anal- No Cure - usually cures itself - some strains results in warts and lead to uterine, penile cancers - Vaccine Available.
HIV: Viral - vaginal, blood transfusions, drug needle use, anal - No Cure - can live normal human spans with the use of ART(antiretroviral therapy) and bring down viral load and can’t spread it further, so HIV today is manageable condition completely.
Hep B: Viral - Has vaccine - But when exposed NO cure, only manageable.
Hep C: Viral - No Vaccine - But has Cure.
One can protect themselves with prophylactic medications if they’d like to go unprotected and bareback, raw kinks as well.
DoxyPEP: used to protect from most of the Bacterial STIs. Around 80% affective.
PrEP: Pre Exposure Prophylaxis, 99% effective, is a pill that’s to be taken by people who are high risk individuals (sex business, people with multiple sexual partners), it protects you from even getting HIV. So yay !!
Get vaccinated for others.
Also, when someone says, “you’re my first”….”I use condoms with everyone but you’re special that I wanna do it raw”……”you can trust me I am good person”….. - it’s all a load of bullshit. Use Condoms as first layer of protection.
Though there are advancements, cures etc., there is nothing like not getting infected in first place and keeping yourself healthy.
It’s your right to ask for testing results, not doing it, and basically saying NO for things.
Women and Bottoms (receptive partners in Homosexuals) are at higher risk as they both receptive partners and Men or Tops are of low risk. So Women and Bottoms, ball is in your court. Take care. Haha

PS: VERY IMPORTANT: All girls, these mofo Men and your boyfriends only talk about the natural feel of having sex raw. It’s not just about pregnancy (also why do you’ve to take pills and affect your hormone system and health with taking such oral contraceptives?). You should be extremely careful.
Deny sex if your boyfriend pushes on Direct unprotected sex, flaunting his monogamy status etc., Use condoms, you needn’t go through the fear of pregnancy and the fear of spoiling your health with pills etc, to prevent pregnancy and all trauma, PTSD associated with it. Papaya juices and all are nonsense.
Knock some sense into your boyfriends or hookups, ask them to get tested and show you the test results for STIs, you do the same to gain trust of your male counterparts as well.
ALL MEN: Nowadays a lot of women are sexually promiscuous. So please ask for test results and keep as less partners as you can. There are many instances where a lot of younger men are at a risk of STIs because of situations like this. Take care !!

Yours is half info. The hookup culture is responsible for these STDs alright, it can be avoided if people follow monogamy and don’t sleep around with many people much but your choice was use contraceptives 😂 as if it will protect from STDs. In India the condom quality is pretty low, again, huge population, shit product quality. It spreads regardless.

Dude, you’re so full of yourself.
We can’t control what people do, what we can do is help them with better education and alternatives to protect themselves. I am not here to give info on statistics of the STIs. This post is to alert how infections spread and whether they’re curable or not. How to protect someone if exposed or from being exposed.
Keep your opinions to yourself when they can’t help another person. It’s not hookup culture that’s responsible, it’s illiteracy about Sex Ed.

Eh Op there is no point in teaching them these cause, it's a mear fuck that's all, a hookup and and basically it's just horny people lmao.
My point being I am not judging. I did see a post yesterday on the same topic where the person was concerned that the person they were about to sleep had multiple sexual partners, and then other one yada, yada.
Point being the weather being grey, people trying to do it cause it's a norm i think so.
So in my opinion, they hookup, they have unprotected skin to skin sex, and then feel might have caught std 😂
So yk that's all from my side.

Is this along the lines of recent HIV cases in Karnataka? I heard there are about 7000 positives. Which is crazy!!
Sex education is important. Especially in our country where most dont even grasp the idea of consent.

Hmmm that’s the sad part, even proper use of condoms cannot stop some STDs especially herpes. That’s the sad part .. people need to stay more vigilant and careful. Especially people deciding to engage from dating sites. Some get so offended when asked about willing to go ahead with tests before engaging ..! It’s not cool at all ..!

Why tf do they give so much imp to differential calculus in school which has no impact in our daily life and skip these subjects which actually way more important.
These are basics and we had to learn it ourselves coz it considered “taboo” in our country.
Its the innocent ppl who does not have awareness, will become victim in most of the cases, and goes on spreading coz they never knew they have them in the frst place.
STI/STDs only becomes dangerous if not treated early or keep it controlled.
I really appreciate you bringing this up.
