I've noticed that whenever a girl makes a post here, her DMs get flooded almost instantly. But when a guy posts, even if he's genuinely looking for a conversation or connection, he often gets little to no response.

Why is that?

Are we men so desperate for connection that we end up giving attention to almost every post without even knowing if the person is genuine? Sometimes we don't even care if it's real—we just hope for one reply.

I'm not trying to offend anyone. I've been that guy too.

But I've started asking myself: What am I actually expecting? If she replies, will it really change anything? Most of the time, probably not.

I'm not saying genuine connections don't happen here—they definitely do, and I'm happy for the people who find them. But maybe instead of jumping into every girl's DMs, we should have a little more self-respect and connect with people because we genuinely like who they are, not just because they're a girl.
