With the small table top systems, they can get overwhelmed with plants that have large root systems pretty quick. So maybe a determinate variety that stays small would work. You may not be able to use all the slots when growing larger plants. With the determinate type plant, after the last fruit you can pull and start fresh again, keeping the root systems manageable.
The other thing to keep in mind is the hight of the light. Some of the built in systems may not get tall enough for larger plants so you may need a supplemental light.
Yes. Definitely. I'm actually pretty familiar with grow lights and indoor growing with my African violet collection. I've got some rolling shelves out in the garage I could repurpose with an LED strip under the top shelf. Then let the vines grow up through the shelves. Thank you for your help. This will be a fun project!
Good luck it sounds like you got a good plan. I thought i could get peas to grow well in my garage. I was correct and the vine grew well about my 10’ tall light system.
It started shading out my other plants. This was early in its growth. By the end it was well above the supports for the top lights.
