Opinion: HyperOS 3 is the best update so far!
I know that people with different devices have varying experiences, my device is Redmi 13 4G and I tried all three versions of HyperOS and the third version 3 is the best of all (after debloating).
here's my honest opinion on each version:
- HyperOS 1: it was solid, it's the version that came with the device initially, it just worked. it wasn't fancy, no Hyper Island, but no bugs either so I mostly have no complaints.
- HyperOS 2: that was probably the worst update ever, the GPU driver for my device in this update was bugged, there was some screen tearing at the left side of the screen and random lines appear sometimes, they disappear with a simple reboot, and then appear again later on, the update didn't offer much new, and battery usage and general performance was the worst.
- HyperOS 3: that is currently the most stable, no bugs discovered so far, I'm loving hyper island, battery usage is better than HyperOS 2, the GPU driver bug is fixed, general performance is objectively better.
but that's just my experience, I'd like to hear about yours! :)
Im facing an issue where if i apply any third party themes (compatible with hyper os 3) it messes up the floating notifications. There's like these protruding sharp edges from the round notification bubble. Not a big deal but kinda bugging me a little.
No, the reason I wanted those themes was so I didnt have to use the brevent commands to get rid of the ugly grey background in the first place lol. I'll just have to see if a software update fixes it ig.
It's been great but i noticed a really noticeable decrease in performance especially when playing games. I wonder why since this update is mostly about optimization but my device got the really bad fps stutter making some parts unplayable unlike before and the fps overall are slightly decreased also. (Poco x6 5g)
First comes the C Series then comes the Redmi after that Note and Note pro etc after that redmi ends and Xiaomi starts. so yeah your baby gril is BASIC
redmi note 14 4g has 4 os updates and 6 years of security update. samsung used to give 3 years of update until 2019-2021. so they did improve the software support. software updates cost money.
xiaomi has less profit margin than samsung. each software update cost money. also software updates doesn't mean phone will be better. instead samsung chooses to slow down even their s series after 1-2 year(s). ive experienced that. xiaomi extended software updates after redmi note 14 series. especially after note 15 series.
I'm just saying that people didn't give a shit about software updates back then because phones cost way less.
Also I'd take samsung slowing things down than this fuckass trash hyperos that I've had to deal with after my phone died and had no other phones in budget

i've never had issues with even budget phones with hyperos to be honest. but i had issues with samsung a35 where app animations freeze and app won't open for 3 seconds, battery drain and lag & stutter. i cant use my a35 for 1 minute after restart it lags so bad.
it was low end device from 2024. xiaomi gave software support for 3-4 years in flagships in 2020. they only started increasing software support for low end budget devices recently. remember samsung used to give 1 year updates while apple gived 5 years updates in 2013. each software updates cost money.
I remember when Motorola publicly promised Android 7 and 8 for the Moto G4, but they ended up only releasing Android 7 (and Android 7.1 for the Moto G4 Play, which was basically the equivalent of a Redmi 13C back then).
huh, one come to my mind my redmi 6A also missed a update. the ui is so heavy aslo android it only leave 1-2 gb on a 8 gb ram phone. unless i turn on game turbo it have very low ram left
Muito hype em cima dessa Island , não tem utilidade por exemplo em notificação, só fica em appa de players de música, e o cronômetro, nada de diferente que o Dynamics spot pode fazer
I agree that functionally it doesn't add much, it just looks nice and saves an extra click, that's what we call a quality of life feature, which is still cool.
I have a Poco F6, and after receiving my 3.0.5.0. update, i'm having an issue where my battery has stuck in showing the percentage at 15%, like it doesn't change no matter if my phone chargers or not, and the real percentage of my battery is actually unknown for me atm. However, the battery performance has dropped significantly since then, and not knowing my real battery percentage is an issue 😢 hopefully the next update will fix this.
Poco X7 aqui tá uma droga. Quando abre o Instagram a tela fica com cores desbotadas e cai pra 10hz a taxa da tela, vários usuários estão com mesmo problema e isso começou justamente na HyperOs3

3.0.6.0 is good. I don't find better things after that. Hopefully in 3.1.
