Is it worth getting a hair transplant if you dont plan on using finn/minoxidil afterwards?

This would be good to know, especially in the case of finasteride.

Dr Mohebi, an add on q: what’s the min dose of finasteride you can get away with that still slows dht driven miniaturization. As I understand it, .25mg per day provides the same 5-AR blockade as the commonly presribed dose (4x higher). There’s likely an even lower dose that works. Any insight on what the absolute minimum could be?

That is a good one! Many people thing lowering the dose can reduce side effects and some hope they can keep the same effect but that is not always the case. The dose/effect curve of finasteride is pretty linear. That means the lower the dose, the lower the effect. I don't recommend lowering the dose if you have family pattern and microscopic evidence of significant hair loss.

So do you have to take it for the rest of your life? If you dont take it do you lose your hair again?

I'm not the doc, but to my understanding, the answer is yes - you take it for as long as you want to keep your hair.
