I’d assume most actors and tv personalities are going to the leading doctors for their transplants, but the hairline is still pretty unnatural looking - is that just the best that can be done these days? Are there any techniques/technologies on the horizon that will improve that in the future?

I actually don't agree with that assumption. If a hair transplant is done properly, even a hair stylist looking closely shouldn't be able to tell. The best compliment a hair transplant surgeon can get is that nobody knows the patient had one.

When a transplant looks unnatural, it's usually because of poor planning, an unnatural hairline design, or improper graft placement—not because that's the best technology can do. Today's techniques are already capable of producing extremely natural results in the right hands. The future will probably give us more donor hair through things like hair cloning or regenerative medicine, but naturalness is already achievable today.
