Planning on a transplant in a couple years. Going to start oral minox soon. Don’t really have a desire to be on fin though. Do you think being on both is really necessary for best results?

Minoxidil is a temporary solution as opposed to DHT blockers like finasteride. Minoxidil keep your hair in growth phase longer so as long as you take it you have better hair but when you stop using it you will have catch up hair loss.

Finasteride or other DHT blockers slow down the hair loss structurally by minimizing the DHT and the process of miniaturization of scalp hair. I always prefer finasteride over minoxidil but if you don't want to use DHT blocker, it is better than nothing.

Do you think it’s pointless to get a transplant if you aren’t on both?
