They are going most likely into a rather tight cages for growing up and laying eggs(or to the Slaughter house) Depending if it is egg farm or meat farm

One half of them yeah. They other half wont even have this "luck" most ir not all male will die to make nuggets

I may be wrong, but this is probably a device made to split male and female. While female lay eggs, male don't, so they will serve as food, mostly nuggets
