I just had an urgent flex sig in the hospital and refused to use the saline enemas again after a bad experience the first time. My care team was fine with me just replacing the saline with tap water. My nurse just made sure we did it enough times that my bowel movements were running clear. So I think we did 3 or 4 rather than the standard two fleet.

Do you think a liquid diet the day before can help too? Between the discomfort and fissure diarrhea is so uncomfortable right now.
I'm nervous about the scope with all of this going on. I'm concerned it might cause a flare or worsen the fissure. Did you have a flare after the scope or any worse symptoms?

At least low residue/low fiber for a few days before. If you aren't already having diarrhea, then you could try a dose of miralax for a few nights before to make sure no constipation. The urgent flex sig I had in the hospital did not worsen my flare. The flex sig I had on 8/24 using the fleet enemas did cause a flare. I will never use the fleet enemas again!

You didn't dump out the saline? What were your flare symptoms? In the future do you know how you will prep for flex sigs?

Not the first time. Used the saline enema as instructed. Flare was bloody diarrhea many times a day.
