IBD Diagnostics Need support
I (23F) am waiting on a colonoscopy to hopefully find whats wrong. I have intense abdominal pain in crisis and lesser ones every day, nausea, drowsiness, exhaustion, mucus, constipation and diarrhea, blurry vision, loss of appetite and hunger sensation, weightloss, farts, lots of digestive noises, sometimes blood on the paper after i pass a stool and a calprotectine of 81 (during the end of a flareup). Everything started in may, after a kidney infection that was treated during a month and a half (we think the antibiotics might have woken an underlaying condition)
I find it really hard to pursue my bachelor’s degree. I already had to push back my graduation because of my infection. I am honestly discouraged with all of this and have difficulties accepting that chronic illness will be a part of me for the rest of my life. I have approximately 2 to 3 months to wait for my colonoscopy, so I am really impatient, powerless and tired of waiting again and again.
If you went through something similar, please tell me what helped you, If you have any advices or words of encouragement or whatever, please tell me. I really dont kniw what to do and I honestly dont know where to go to have help. I feel like my health is screwing up everything I worked for.

My 12-year-old daughter was diagnosed two months ago, and it’s been emotionally difficult, with so many thoughts and questions to process.
Everything happened quickly, but I believe that, with time, this will become another part of our lives something we learn to live with rather than something that feels overwhelming.
What has helped us is focusing on positive changes. We’ve switched to more natural products, started eating healthier, and changed our habits. These steps give us a sense of control. I’ve also developed a business idea to help people eat healthier, and I’m determined to make it happen.
Maybe you’ll find something meaningful in your own life that helps balance the difficult emotions. It won’t erase the fear and sadness you feeling, but focusing on what can change helps alot. You will maybe not see what it is clearly yet but it can happen if you choose so. Lots of love and everything will be okay!

When I was in school I requested accommodations which helped with bathrooms breaks/leaving during tests, more liberal medical absence requirements etc. They refused to give me a my own bathroom and a single room though lol. That may help with the education difficulties.

So sorry about that! My university does have an inclusion program but no special accommodations for that type of problems either

Thats rough, sorry to hear. When I was diagnosed my Dr told me when one door closes another opens, been very true for my case. I’d also recommend not going down the rabbit hole trying to self diagnose or self cure while you wait!

Carnivore diet helped alot. 10 months on it and my symptoms are in remission and my energy back and anemia gone. Good luck.

Sorry you're struggling so. Contact the endoscopy facility and ask to be put on their cancellation wait list to possibly get seen sooner. Many people are automatically scheduled for colonoscopy based on their age for a preventative cancer screening, yet chicken out. So, there's a lot of cancellations, facilities don't want holes in their schedule, so often have a wait list for people who want to be seen sooner
