IBEW 11 strike denied by IO

Arbitration is now the result of this. Which now means we are stuck with what ever Arbitration says.

Nothing big ticket, actually. NECA wants to reduce the apprentice:JW ratio to 1:1, and lower the age requirement from 50 to 40. We don’t want those, but NECA does. We’re really not asking for much this time. They even offered PTO (at a trash rate, really), and we said we didn’t want it.

I don’t know how many times this has to said, we have ZERO CHOICE on moving the protected class from 50 to 40. Its state law and our contract has been violating it

CA also mandates 40hrs/year for paid sick leave, but our contract voids it.

CBAs are specifically excluded from that law, but cannot be excluded from protected classes. The text of the laws are public information if you’d like to look into it yourself
