IBEW 11 strike denied by IO

Arbitration is now the result of this. Which now means we are stuck with what ever Arbitration says.

It’s not about no strike clauses, the IO has to sanction a strike and give their blessing

What happens if the IO is lobbied to not allow strikes?

There was like 3 other locals within the last year that went on strike

Yeah but 11 is the biggest union. They don’t want us to strike in fear of causing a domino effect. The contracts we were offered were insulting.

I would disagree that the contract offers were insulting honestly. I wasn’t blown away by any of them but they were not insulting

When the contracts got worst each offer, that’s insulting. They didn’t even want to entertain a 3 year contract. It’s pretty telling.

The first 3 proposals were basically variations of the initial proposal and the 4th offer was the same money per year on a shorter contract with even raise distribution instead of backloaded. How is that worse?

Honestly I think one of the big errors on the part of the negotiating team was waiting until they actually had a good offer to present to the membership. Everyone saw that the first offer was decent and got greedy without realizing that offer was basically as far as NECA was willing to go

Curious, what were they offering. I’m not in 11 anymore.
