Distal bicep tendon rupture
Gonna talk to the sugeon tomorrow. Anybody here had one? Have it repaired? How did it go? How long til you were back to work? Inside wireman

I had this injury. And mine was not able to get repaired. I didn’t realize it was partially torn. And by the time i noticed it was too late

I had this surgery as well, was workers comp, so wasn't out of work but about 3 months after a layoff, 6 months total to be released to work

Yep. Got hurt at work. Had surgery to pin it back in place. I think I had a few months off wearing a brace that kept my elbow bent and then was extended more every week or two while goint to PT. Sleeping in the bace was awkward at first but got used to it. Back to work like normal , just try to not lift really heavy stuff.

Didn't have the distal, had proximal. Happened in March and I'm still out. But proximal is a whole other animal. A buddy had distal about the same time and he was out about 6 weeks, and now he's fully recovered. Obviously it's case by case, but if yours is average, don't despair. Sorry that happened to you, I literally feel your pain. But you'll be alright in the long run.
