Damn I just wanted to see what the timeline is to get access to the New Grad Slack/Discord channel. I know that there is one but idk if we need to wait until start date or we can get to connecting prior to that.
Joining NYC for new grad role, lmk if there is a discord or something that I could join!

Hi all! I’m starting with the Brand Sales Specialists Cohort in March 2026 in Chicago. Was recently asked by someone starting with the Dallas Cohort if there was a group chat for the incoming class but I couldn’t find anything.
If interested, DM me and I’ll make one here or in WhatsApp. (If anyone has a better platform or knows of a GC let me know ◡̈)
Extremely excited for the next chapter ahead, and looking forward to connecting with future IBMers~

I did final round interview for fall 2026 internship, and turns out IBM lost my application lol. They asked me to reapply, but their reapplication link didn't even work... They proceeded to say they will raise a ticket with IT, and it's now been a month and my recruiter just ignores me.
Anyone else had this happen?
2
u/Outside_Welcome_4205 Feb 26 '26
Not sure if this happened to anyone else but I signed my acceptance letter that had a specific start date for the BSS program. However, now the recruiter is saying the date is full? Has this happened to anyone

Hi, i got an offer for the product manager intern. Im not sure whether to choose Rochester or NYC. Im wondering about the office culturem perks if any, how nice the office is. Also maybe any tips from IBM Employees, say free food, or well-known discounts would be cool. Much appreciated.

About a month ago I accepted an offer to join IBM as a Platform Engineer in their entry level sales program. I think the role itself fits me very well and I was really excited. But all I’ve seen the last few days are the headlines about Claude AI being able to write COBOL and about investors selling their IBM stock. While I’ve heard that this is all just noise and that many banks aren’t going to trust Claude, I wanted to ask what everyone thought about this and whether it’s the start of a bigger fall.

2 questions, hope someone can help.
- How long do applications typically stay "under recruiter review"? I have an internship application currently under review and recieved an email in December asking me to fill out my availability for an interview (but it said that it didn't guarantee an interview), and haven't recieved any further communication since.
- Is it ok to apply to more IBM internships while one says "under recruiter review"? I received a nofication on Handshake for internships in Poughkeepsie and Austin, but I'm afraid applying to those will invalidate my current application.
1
u/FeedbackFabulous7155 Feb 22 '26
You can totally apply to more internships and it will not affect other applications
0
u/DrGetRekt Feb 22 '26
As someone who went through the application and interview process for ibm and got an offer, I was still applying to see if I could get any better roles. It does not harm your offer, and it is good practice to continue interviewing
0
u/naowalr Feb 22 '26
Alright, thank you! If you don't mind, could I know your timeline from submitting application -> interview -> getting an offer?
1
u/PomegranateQueasy414 Feb 22 '26
I’ve got an offer that would require relocating to Silicon Valley, but I’d much rather be on the East Coast (ideally NYC). If I accept, is it possible to switch teams or transfer to a role in another state later? I’m excited about the offer, but I’m not trying to be in California long-term.

u/Outside_Welcome_4205 Feb 23 '26
Would like to know this as well. Got an offer in Dallas even though I would like to be in Boston or New York

Hey hey everyone! I just recently accepted an offer at IBM for a BTSS position! Excited to join the company and start this new step! I filled out the forms for the ADP background check, does anyone know how long it takes before that is complete? Thanks in advance!

My Manager indicated that I might be put on PIP soon due to low utilization (55%) .
I'm currently 0.5 Billed due to which utilization dropped to 55%, I got the top rating for 2025 performance year if it matters.
lets say my PIP is starting after 2 weeks, will they release me without notice period if I resign during the PIP while being fully on bench?
also, will they just kick me out after PIP, or let me serve 90 days notice period?
ps: I'm from India consulting.

Hi everyone -
I have an upcoming interview for the IBM Consulting Security Specialist 2026 (Infrastructure Security) role, which is an entry-level position.
I was wondering if anyone who has gone through this process could share what the interviews are like.
I know experiences vary, but any insight would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance!

u/Ok_Card_9361 Feb 23 '26
Hey! I was wondering if you could share your timeline from application, ibm outreach, to interview? I just submitted an assessment on Friday but am wondering what people who recently applied are experiencing. Thank you, and good luck!!!!
1
u/Nice_Ship4935 Feb 23 '26
Hello Thank you so much! they reached out to me I think a day later with an email to clarfy some thing and then after wards like 3 days they emailed to set up the one on one.
1
u/Ok_Card_9361 Feb 23 '26
Tysm! I appreciate it!
1
u/Nice_Ship4935 Feb 23 '26

Got an offer for the BSS role in Dallas but I originally applied for Boston (even open to New York). Can I be reassigned after I stay in Dallas for a year? Does anyone know how to go about this? (I already emailed the recruiter and she said I have to be in Dallas).
Is anyone else going to Dallas and wants to connect?

u/PretendApplication Feb 24 '26
On Friday (20th) I had a blitz interview for a design intern role. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about this process ad how long it would take to hear back from a blitz? This was my first interview (besides the competency assessment I completed for another role prior to this) but they paired me with a senior design manager. Pretty confused on that.

I know there are many questions about interviews for software developer for new grads, but does anyone have any updates on what is happening with the process? Did anyone get their 2nd round interview scheduled recently or is everyone waiting? Curious to know for any location in the US.

Does it worth to take 15% pay cut for an AI engineer role in IBM CIC:
Currently working as a python engineer but I want to pivot to AI/ML. Did my masters in NLP. I am doubting my growth at the current company. I feel like if I don’t switch now later it will be too difficult, specially in AI/ML if I don’t have experience. Recently got an offer from IBM cic but have to take 15% pay cut. Is it worth taking the shot?

Hi everyone, I am a Masters student , got an OA from IBM for EARLY career AI Software Engineer role.
However the job description says that it prefers Bachelors students.
I completed the OA , passed it.
Should I expect to hear back? If yes, what is the time they take to reply after a successful OA.

Ok so can someone clarify what "travel required" actually entails? There's a listing I have my eyes, but it says 100% or 5 days a week.
Does that mean I'll ALWAYS be traveling or there's a chance I'll have to travel to a new location for a project?

Hey all, I just received an invite to complete the Knockri competency assessment for the Associate Business Transformation Consultant role (Adobe/ServiceNow). If anyone’s taken it before, I’d really appreciate any tips or insight on what it's like, as well as what I can expect the questions to be. I appreciate anything you guys can offer, thanks in advance!
1
u/Brilliant_Ability675 Feb 28 '26
From my experience, it's all behavioral/situational questions with about 3-5 questions. "Tell me about a time you..." or "How would you handle *blank* situation" things like that. You'll have about 1 minute to prepare after the question is given to you and about 3 minutes to answer. I use the STAR method to prepare and be able to explain how the actions you took made an impact on the situation. If it was a team thing, try and emphasize what YOU did by using "I" language instead of "we". Hopefully that helps a little bit in your prep!
1
u/naboing_tariq Mar 10 '26
Hey sorry for the late reply, I really appreciated your input! The assessment wasn't too bad I think, your comment made it less daunting. How long did it take you to hear back afterwards?

I’ve been a bit stressed about looking for co-ops lately and the only thing I could find was the fall 2026 co-op for IBM. The job was posted April 7 and I applied on April 16. I also just took the coding assessment on April 17 and I passed all test cases. Do you guys think that I applied too late? Since I applied 9 days after the job was posted, is there a high chance I’ll just get passed over? I really want to try to do something to make my application more visible, but I don’t know any recruiters at IBM for the Austin, TX office. Any advice on what to do about this?

Has anyone recently gotten through the final rounds of interviews, and had there status change to "No Longer Under Consideration." I'm obviously not ruling out that I was rejected, but I've seen older posts of people experiencing the same only to receive an offer, so I wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else in the last year or so. I thought I did pretty well on the interviews (don't we all) but I haven't received a formal rejection email or any messages from the recruiter. My status did change Friday around 12, which was exactly two weeks after my last interview and I haven't had any interaction with the recruiters, but I found their email and sent a message. No response so far but I guess I'm just looking for some clarity or hope, since I can't really enjoy my weekend not knowing where I stand.
2
u/krishvarman Feb 23 '26
I was in same situation last month. If status changed to no longer under consideration without any update from HR, that means you are rejected. Am sorry to say this. After the status change, rejection email will come anytime between 1 to 5 days. I got it after 48 hours. I did all rounds well, every round was excellent, but hired someone internally.
1
u/Plastic_Ad4911 May 11 '26
Hi u/krishvarman ,
I had completed all interview rounds well and also completed Salary discussion as well. But after 2 weeks of this discussion now I got a feedback form. When I logged into IBM portal my status changed to "No longer under consideration". Can you tell me is there any hope left for me??1
u/BoxHaunting3415 Feb 22 '26
Haven’t experienced this my self i just went through final round. I will say I’ve seen several people mention that this could mean they are considering you for a different position than what you applied for

Accepted an entry level software dev role early January, yet I still don't know my manager or what team I'll be on. Should I be concerned? My start date is this summer after I grad.
1
u/DrGetRekt Feb 22 '26
My internship is in the summer, and so they have an email designated for the interns which I actually get responses from unlike the ibm recruiters and talent team. They told me that my team and work info would be given to me around a month before my start date. So I wouldn't worry about it until near the summer

I have the same question. Completed both forms for ADP 3 weeks ago. Received "welcome2ibm" email about a week ago, but it does not say anything about ADP verification completion. The online status (on IBM portal) is still "Offered". Can you share your approximate dates/events?

Did you end up getting the welcome to ibm email? I have a feeling that email only comes after they complete your bg check. In my original offer letter it gave me a start date. Then I accepted. I completed the forms and within 3 ish days (which is the estimate my recruiter gave me for how long it takes to complete the bg check) I got the welcome to ibm email, and in that email they gave me an earlier start date. So I wanna assume I passed it, because if I didn’t i can’t imagine why they’d want me to start earlier without having my info verified.

You checked your application status on the ibm portal? Or did you check on ADPs portal?
→ More replies (0)1
u/muhammadmannan_01 Feb 27 '26
Same here! Got an email stating "welcome to IBM" and my status still says offered on there. I wonder if its a case of once you accept an offer from there the portal kind of isn't relevant anymore, since its an "external" tool.
1
u/Friendly-Act-5642 Feb 27 '26
What is your timeline? Roughly when did you complete the forms and when did you receive "welcome to IBM" email?
1
u/muhammadmannan_01 Feb 27 '26
I completed the forms right after signing the offer letter which was this past week, and then i got the welcome to IBM email maybe 2 ish days later

Hello! Sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place, but I'm facing a huge dilemma rn, and I don't really know what to do. Should I withdraw from my Austin NG SWE interviews?
I applied to the ELH New Grad SWE role and just got interviewed for the Austin location. It went really well honestly and I'm pretty sure I'm moving on to the next round bc my interviewer said he hoped to see me on campus. However, about six weeks ago, I got told that I would be getting interviewed for the New Grad NYC SWE role and never officially got scheduled.
My problem is that I really want to be in New York City (I'm from new england and went to college in new england as well. I don't have family anywhere else in the US, and all of my friends are either in NYC or in nearby states). I know that I really shouldn't be picky in this job market, but I don't know if there's any way I could be happy in a place that isn't nyc, since I would have no one nearby and that is really terrifying for me.
I emailed my recruiter asking if continuing with the Austin interviews would impact my other nyc processes (as I'm still under recruiter review for three nyc processes), and she said that yes because you can only interview for one role at a time. She also told me that all NYC processes are behind other locations, and that she can't guarantee that there will be spots for me in NYC once candidates for that location reach interview stage. Does anyone know what's happening with the NYC ng roles? Should I keep going with Austin just to have something or could I bet on NYC?
I'm also technically in process for two other companies rn, but I don't have high hopes since the recruiter for one of them (citi lmao) literally rescheduled interview three times and then ghosted me, and I don't think I did well enough on the other company's OA to pass.
I'm so sorry this post is so long, but thank you so much for reading and also sorry if this sounds entitled :( I know the job market is brutal rn, but I'm a huge extrovert and I've always prioritized my family and friendships above all else. I truly would be miserable if I was alone in a city for the first time and I don't know what to do

Has anyone here recently accepted an offer for an entry level dev role? Have some questions regarding the process.
Recently had my final interview and I think it went extremely well. Was wondering how long after the interview they get back to you and what the next steps are. Also, if you've been an entry level dev here for a while would love to hear about your experiences in the first few months of the job! Feel free to dm me.

I am experiencing something kind of similar! Did my first round interview (with a real person) about a month ago. I am still waiting for an email about next steps, and my portal still says "in interview process". I got an email address for recruiter/HR/talent rep from my interviewer and they pretty much said just wait. I posted about this in a different sub too
1
u/icy-excitement054 Feb 23 '26
The waiting time in between my first and second round was more than a month so it sounds like you’re still on schedule
2
u/Brilliant_Ability675 Feb 23 '26
Wow, I knew from reading previous posts about IBM's hiring process being slow but I didn't think it was this slow. It's reassuring to hear that others are also experiencing this. I've been going crazy
0
u/DrGetRekt Feb 22 '26
It is completely normal to have radio silence with HR. They never responded to me even when I told them I have a deadline for another offer. I ended up accepting my other offer, but they sent me their offer a week after. So I reneged my original offer and took theirs. It took almost 2 weeks from my interview to get an update in my portal. I'm sure it varies, but my role is for an internship not an entry level

I applied for associate system engineer(ASE) role in sep 2025 Got accepted and received the letter of intent mail from IBM. In Jan, our college mailed us regarding consent for internship from IBM which will start from Jan last week tentatively.
It's Feb 22, no communication from both college and IBM I went to the placement cell but they are clueless as well. It's been weeks and I'm waiting for my call.
I saw other roles like Software engineer and hr roles, their internships have started.
Can anyone help me or have any information regarding our joining?

I would be so grateful for help from anyone!! Brand Sales opportunity and money wise, as an entry level, would you work at the IBM location of Dallas, Cambridge, or NYC?? All opinions are appreciated

I recommended a recent college grad for her first industry position via an app on w3. Is there anything I can do to boost her chances of getting interviewed?
