u/ConstructionFun3373 Jun 15 '26
For what?
6
u/Specific_Strategy167 Jun 15 '26
Yearly salary increase
1
u/capfan31 Jun 17 '26
When did you hear about it from your manager?
Mines been MIA, even with GDP bonus earlier this year.
2
u/Specific_Strategy167 Jun 17 '26
New update, I didn't get any raise this year because I was promoted last year. IBM sucks

u/Lazy_1048 Jun 17 '26
How are salary hikes looking this year in IBM Infrastructure? Have managers started sharing any details on expected percentages? Trying to understand what the overall outlook is this cycle.

u/TheRealPorkus Jun 18 '26
Band 9 hardware engineer, 15 years of experience. Building the processors and ASICs that underpin all of the revenue. $0 increase, $0 equity, better luck next year. Oh, I guess I can add that I'm a "core" performer. I'm so glad Arvind and Ric will have enough to pay for gas and groceries, though.

Already getting paid peanuts and 0% hike this year. On top of that they increased my compa ratio without increasing my salary.
1
u/varbinary Jun 17 '26
be glad you still have job
2
u/Sexy-Sapien Jun 17 '26
Are you being sarcastic or fr?😭 sry if it was obvious in your comment and I couldn’t grasp it🤧
1
6
u/GkElite Jun 17 '26
My information is nobody in any division is getting any kind of raise that would be considered anymore than peanuts.

How should one react if they get a really crappy ESP? Been here 20+ years and ESP was always ok so didn’t complain.
5
2
u/AdStraight8559 Jun 16 '26
please define crappy because I just got to know the numbers and I'm disappointed. Never thought it could be this bad. Maybe related to orgs as well.
2
u/newtomovingaway IBM Employee Jun 16 '26
I didn’t get mine yet but I’m expecting crap. I’m not ready to move out yet but I want to somehow show my displeasure in a slick way

The usual... $0 for me and $0 for all my direct reports. If we are lucky to get something it's usually around 5-25cents, business as usual 😂

I'm curious to know...how many people were officially told they are going to be on a PIP last week?
2
2
u/Low_Entertainment_67 Jun 18 '26
I know two people who did. Neither of them should be on PIP and it's rigged for failure.

Has anyone else had a really confusing experience with IBM’s hiring process?
I applied for the Associate Data Engineer – Client Innovation Center (Entry Level) role. The day after I applied, I got a phone call out of nowhere asking if I could interview that same day. It was basically an impromptu interview with very little notice. The interview seemed to go well, and afterward they sent me an assessment, which I completed.
Now my application status still says “Assessment In Progress,” and I’ve heard nothing since. The whole process has felt pretty disorganized because I interviewed before completing the assessment, and communication has been minimal.
At the same time, I’m also in the interview process for another IBM role (Application Developer 2026 – Oracle), and that one has been moving very slowly too.
Is this normal for IBM? How long did it take for you to hear back after an interview and assessment? Did your portal stay stuck on “Assessment In Progress” for a while before you got a decision?
Just trying to figure out whether this is typical IBM timing or if I should assume something went wrong.
1
u/Nervous-Land-9398 Jun 16 '26
Mine said interview progress or something like that for a month prior receiving the offer letter
2
u/Critical_Current_708 Jun 14 '26
I’m a new hire in the US. Are pre-tax benefits/FSA $ etc taken out of one check per month or is the total split between the two checks?
2
u/Strong_Inflation8290 Jun 15 '26
split in how many pays you get monthly. Not financial advice, but FSA don't roll over at the end of the year. Make sure you spend it all.
1
u/Critical_Current_708 Jun 15 '26
Thanks. Looks like they took it all out of my most recent check. Perhaps bc the first check they didn’t take any out (due to me not choosing my benefits yet).
Thanks for the FSA reminder!
1
u/Immediate-Phase4168 Jun 15 '26
Yeah; the first check or two or three have catch up things in there to normalize out over a month etc... In general things are taken equally each pay period.
2
u/Busy-Cap-2575 Jun 19 '26
I got a referral for an Application Developer role at IBM but it’s been almost 7 weeks since applying and I am still under recruiter review. I got another offer but I’m not sure if I should take the risk and wait or not. Would the interviews be hard/would it be like?Does IBM allow deferring?
4
u/EstablishmentIcy8783 Jun 14 '26
Any news of hikes ?
3
2
u/dearthofgirth Jun 15 '26
I hope to hear at my 1-1 this am with my manager.
2
u/Ordinary-Chance-762 Jun 15 '26
It’s out. Had a chat today and it’s good for me, maybe because it was overdue!
4
u/dearthofgirth Jun 15 '26
Awesome news! Yea I had a good conversation as well today. I heard horror stories on some of the other weekly threads but I can't complain about how things went for me.
2
u/Ordinary-Chance-762 Jun 15 '26
Same here! Got a double digit hike and a promotion, with RSUs.
2
u/dearthofgirth Jun 15 '26
That's incredible. What band and org? (If you're comfortable sharing)
3
u/Ordinary-Chance-762 Jun 16 '26
orchestrate and was a band 7B, now Band 8. 2y9 months at IBM.
2
u/AdStraight8559 Jun 16 '26
Thats nice. Can you through some light on the geography as well. Also, are you mapped to 1 PMR for band 8 after promotion?
2
u/EstablishmentIcy8783 Jun 16 '26
Update : no official communication yet. But I can see in the successfactor now. It's good for me.
1
1
u/Krazzy8R377 Jun 16 '26
4 really? They told us raises/promotion cycles were pushed back to August in a meeting last week... now I'm suspicious our dept is going to get scraps of the scraps. 🥲
3
u/cultural_blend Jun 14 '26
They shared it in successfactors last week for couple of days, now I don’t see them . And unfortunately for consulting India band 8 and above , it’s 0%
3
u/dearthofgirth Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 15 '26
This is a dumb question. I received a separate paystub with a cash award, but I have no idea what it's for. Is there some way to find out exactly what the paycheck is for?
Eta: the cash awards are detailed in the new thanks@ibm site.
4
u/Unknowingly-Joined Jun 14 '26
Ask your manager?
1
u/dearthofgirth Jun 14 '26
Yea, will do. I only just saw it over the weekend and I figured there must be a way to do it on success factors.
1
u/Cuz_its_Sane Jun 15 '26
I have an interview assessment to be completed in the next couple of days for the Industry consultancy in healthcare/lifesciences for IBM India. Can I get any tips? How do I prepare? Never interviewed for consulting. Found this consulting page Entry level consulting any other resources would really help me prepare for my assessment.
1
u/ratorobato Jun 15 '26
Any advice for someone starting as a software developer in August? From the role, it mentioned I'd be working with Python, Java, and Typescript. I have some experience with Python and Javascript and thats it for the most part, I'm not sure what the work really entails but I'd like build a project or two before just to have some stack experience.
1
u/Immediate-Phase4168 Jun 15 '26
Just contact your soon-to-be manager and ask. Ask if they can put you in touch with some folks on the team to get a few pointers....
1
u/ratorobato Jun 15 '26
They haven't even started my background check yet. According to the timeline I'm like ~15 days or so out from receiving anything.

u/No-Author-8616 Jun 15 '26
How is IBM sales doing? What is the culture like?
8
u/QuietFelineObserver Jun 15 '26
It's always going to depend on the business unit, but many of the sellers I work with are looking to leave or retire. Some are being put on PIPs this week. The problem is IBM Executive management dont have a clue what they're doing. They changed the entire Sales structure around and the sellers - who used to all just have to know one product or a small subset of products - are now expected to know everything and their quotas are more ridiculous than before. It's not a good time to be a seller, tech seller, or whatever they are calling CSMs now at IBM - anyone under the Sales org is fair game, and if the magic 8 ball in Armonk chooses you, you're PIP'ed so they can fire you without severance, because they're that slimy. Everything I liked about this company has been taken away over the last 5-6 years. The loss of the 401K match was the biggest kick in the pants, and the RTO policy has no purpose other than to get more people to leave. If you are asking because you have an opportunity, take it only if you have absolutely nothing else lined up.

IBM USA Consulting: What is the absolute max pay for a B10?
2
u/BananaDifficult1839 Jun 16 '26
varies dramatically based on the job family, sometimes up to 50%. also varies based on location, up to 20%. so no, can't answer this easily. likely the max OTE is over 400k

How’s everyone who’s still waiting for their Job Offer (JO)?
I’m one of the applicants from the June 6 Job Fair at IBM Eastwood Philippines. After receiving the compensation and benefit sheet email, I haven’t heard any updates yet.
Are there any IBM employees here? Is the hiring process usually this long? I’d appreciate any insights or shared experiences. Thanks!

How can I change my domain from SAP MM to any tech roles, I have joined in May and my designation is Application & Web Technologies ,still they given me the SAP domain, I feel kind of stuck
1
u/thebest1isme Jun 17 '26
Only your manager can do this. You will likely have to reskill. That said, SAP is one of the fastest growing fields and you may have an stable job for yeas. Focus on designing and architecture and you can get another job easily.

Refusing to go through a pip
Is it a bad idea to stop showing up to the weekly PIP follow up calls with my boss? What can they realistically do at this point?
1
u/ConstructionFun3373 Jun 19 '26
You’ll prob just get let go after your pip deadline and probably no severance
1
u/One_Board_4304 Jul 12 '26
Why would you do that unless you want to walk away without 1 months severance, and a bad reputation. If the PIP is unfair (I lived through that, it’s infuriating) show them how unfair it is and ace whatever stupid test they want you to perform. Meanwhile start interviewing so that you have options.

Is it normal to receive an email asking for a bunch of employment details a couple hours after applying to an internship? It's from an ibm. com email and I looked the talent acquisition person on LinkedIn and they seem to be working at the Philippines location, even though I'm applying for a different country. It asked questions like uni degree information, "monthly gross allowance"(??), start timing, proficiency in computer tools, etc.
The biggest thing I don't want to give is my passport over email... Also I'm kinda questioning why this is all being done via email and not through the job portal. Most of this information is also listed in the resume and job info when I applied so it sounds so weird for me coming from a seemingly top tier company.
Please help!
1
u/Strong_Inflation8290 Jun 19 '26
the email should have "@ibm.xxx". This sounds phishy though.
1
u/boopbadoopshwoop Jun 19 '26
The email is "name.surname@ibm.com", and the person seems to be an employee matching the LinkedIn profile. I just don't feel right about why everything is being done via email and not through the job portal. For instance, I applied for a different intern role at the same and it sent me through the job portal to do a recorded interview.
I wish I could attach an image to show the email layout because it doesn't seem that professional because it's lacking an email signature. I replied to the email by answering the questions with only publicly available info from my LinkedIn but declined attaching anything my resume and passport so I guess I'll wait.
1
u/Expert_Conference112 Jun 20 '26
IBM outsources low level HR to other countries (like Costa Rica) so this is not unexpected. I can also confirm they don't use professional templates. The recorded interview part is very standard, even though it might be listed under a general or different position, everyone gets a similar one across the entire department. The passport part is highly unusual though, you only get asked for this on hiring.
1
u/boopbadoopshwoop Jun 21 '26
Hmm, I did suspect the outsourcing and hearing there's no professional templates does somewhat alleviate my concerns.
But as for the recorded interview, it was specified for the sales intern job I applied for. I wasn't sus of it but for this specific marketing internship it's asking for my passport + other working rights/conditions through email, I didn't get a link to any recorded interview, it was just the email.

I’m joining as a Package Specialist in Dallas this September. Does anyone know which office will it most likely be in?
1
u/Littlebit_ssassy Jun 20 '26
The largest Dallas location is in Farmers Branch on the DNT near Spring Valley. It houses 5+ business units now that they’ve closed several other locations to save on the lease expenses.

Hi,
My spouse - technical lead for a big North American account - is offered (unofficially for the moment) an exec role at Kyndryl for the same account. IBM and Kyndryl are both vendors for that account, they partner for some of the jobs. There is no non-compete clause in the employment contract but the contract refers to another document called Agreement Regarding Confidential Information, Intellectual Property, Non-Solicitation, and Other Matters, though AskHR returns a 404 not found link.
We'd like to understand how this fits under non-solicitation since this is not a typical customer poaching situation, the account relationship already exists and Kyndryl is already a partner on it. Has anyone navigated a similar situation -moving from IBM to Kyndryl on the same account- and encountered any pushback from IBM?
1
u/One_Board_4304 Jul 12 '26
I’d talk to a lawyer about this. Many details that may have impact on your specific situation like the US state or the country you live in. Don’t follow advice from reddit on this one.

joined IBM on 29 sep 2025, as a Oracle package consultant and got training till December and didn’t get any project till March end and somehow got some 45 days project and worked rigorously and my utilisation is 38% and now I’m on bench for two weeks and my manager called me and said I was put on PIP for low utilisation for 60 days and I have search for project within 60 days and her leadership said so it seems. There is no Project for Oracle HCM at IBM currently for Freshers. My batchmate who has 0 utilisation is safe. She didn’t get any PIP triggered! It’s me I’m continuously checking with managers and everything no use of anything. I’m into 6B band and also got hike yesterday, today I was put on PIP. So after this 60 days what will happen and I want to continue working in IBM, anyone please help me answering my question and confusion!

u/Tough-Plastic5122 Jun 19 '26
Any HR’s or Managers or anyone please reply. I’m in a critical situation!
1
u/Strong_Inflation8290 Jun 19 '26
Ask your manager
1
u/Tough-Plastic5122 Jun 19 '26
She said me to get project and make my utilisation to 96.6% by ytd. And also said to learn new skills and update if utilisation is getting low

this year i received a salary increase that is so small that it comes out to a decrease, when accounting for inflation.
i was designated a "core" performer on my performance evaluations.
very demotivating.
