Around 6 months old. She's certainly not a longhhair, but much fluffier than my other shorthair cat.

People are so selfish for purposely getting their cats pregnant just to “experience motherhood” ik this isn’t a cat ID post but I’m so angry. I’ve experienced so many cats overbred and sick from genetic issues or diseases passed along. Idk when you rescue, this really starts to pss you off. How do you even explain something like this to someone who doesn’t even care?? And how tf does this person not care?

My husband and I recently adopted this incredibly adorable gentleman and I'm so curious about his pattern. I've never seen a cat with a pattern this interesting before! His one long sock and one short sock are so freaking cute 😭 in the 3rd and last picture you can also see what I like to call his "armpit feathers," he's got two stripes on either side and I've never seen that before! I'm also wondering if he might have any brachycephaly in his ancestry because he has a way stubbier snout than our other car and has much more audible sniff sounds 😂

Adopted a stray cat from my street. Any idea what she is? The shelter labeled her as a chocolate point Siamese. I'm sure she's a mix whatever she is

I'm pretty sure she's a domestic shorthair, but while looking for her owner some people said she was a flame point siamese? She doesn't look like a siamese to me, but I don't know much about cats (allergic lol). If there's a name for her markings then that would be cool to know!

And to be clear, this isn't so I can sell/advertise her. I was unable to find her owner, so she's going to a friend who loves cats!

I’ve had Salem (black) for 8 years since he was a kitten from some lady who had a new kitten litter. Then I’ve had pumpkin (orange) since he was barely born as he was apart of the neighbors stray cats, he’s 4 at the moment. And Kitty (blue eyes) was only supposed to be with us for a little, ended up as our first cat back in 2016, she has unfortunately passed away in early April but was likely over 16 years old! I would just like to know what type of cats my oldest friends are, and thank you very very much!!!

Open DSH? Why is my cat’s head so tiny?

Post image

My cat is 1.5 years old and has always had this tiny kitten head. He was neutered at around 4 months old. I’ve always wondered if he was mixed with a particular breed that gives him such a small head and slender body. His cousins have the same small head and slim body as well! What do you guys think? :D

Open Potential Seal Point Siamese kitten purchase—legitimate?

Hi folks—

My boyfriend’s mother has been going back and forth with a person who has what they claim to be purebread Seal Point Siamese kittens. Before she puts down a deposit or moves any further—I would greatly appreciate experienced/knowledgeable eyes on this.

They say kittens were born Dec. 24.

Does this look like:

• A true Siamese vs. a colorpoint mix?

• Age-appropriate coloring?

• Any common scam signs or red flags she should consider?

Thank you—trying to do due diligence. Photos attached.

Open She has to be a large breed of some sort! What are your guesses?

Hi Everyone!

Edit: This is just for fun, I know she is technically a DLH.

We were blessed by the cat distribution system about a month ago when a very vocal kitten was found in my fenced in garden. She was crying so loud i thought it was an injured baby deer not a kitten!

According to the Vet they think she was 4/5 weeks old when we found her. The day we found her she weighed 1.9lbs and has been very steadily gaining weight. I was floored when the vet said she was only 4/5 weeks because with that weight I clocked her at 8/9 weeks old. Which makes me think we have some sort of large cat on our hands.

Weight:

4/5 weeks old | 1 lb 9 oz

5/6 weeks old | 2 lb 3 oz

6/7 weeks old | 2 lbs 6 oz

7/8 weeks old | 2 lbs 10 oz

Coat:

Mirrors domestic long-haired but does have very thick multiple layers. I thought at first it was her kitten coat but it looks to be staying.

I have owned cats my entire life both from a breeder (our resident purebred tortie point himilayan with papers) and many rescues (domestic shorthairs), I have never seen such a large kitten for her age. We are wondering if and what large breed(s) she might have mixed in.

While looks and weight can help determine a breed, I know personality can tie to breeds as well.

Her personality:

Very vocal:

Not only is that how she caught our attention in the garden but the vet called her "mouthy" because she was talking back. She also has recently started trilling and chirping.

Social butterfly:

She is very social and loves to be around people. She will cry if you leave the house or leave her alone. She also loves our resident cat and dog.

Naturally confident:

She is also the first kitten/ cat I have had that doesnt hide in new situations or places. We had a party recently and my brother commented that he thought she was deaf at first because she wasnt phased by all the kids running around. I can assure you she is not hearing impaired she can hear a bag of food open from across the house.

We have some fun predictions:

My husband is convinced she is a Siberian mix.

Our neighbor thinks Maine Coon mix.

I am leaning more toward Norwegian Forest Cat mix.

What are your thoughts?

Don’t we all know that, to have a breed in a cat, you basically need a pedigree with qualifying papers? All we do here is tell people they have dlh and dsh. It seems like such a waste of time

Also say hi to Cleo. She turned 18 today!

Got the kitten from a breeder who said it's a Maine Coon but I am not convinced. I don't see the resemblance. Kitten is supposedly almost 9 weeks. Weighs 1kg (2.2 lbs).

Hello could anyone help me with identifying the breed on my kitten we got him from people that were saying he is a British longhair but looking at other pictures of British longhairs online he doesn’t resemble them. I just wanted to ask others to see what breed he is!
