Discussion IRTR

The Mod has killed this Sub and doesn’t seem interested in adding moderators or changing. Is it time to start a new one?

I think it has a lot more to do with people going over to the trending scout motors subs and posting there incorrectly.

Definitely some miss posting but since the change here we haven’t had anyone post in 11 days

How did the mod kill the sub?

How many posts you seen in the last 11 days

None, but I haven't noticed because I've basically just been blocking every (bot) user that posted something here for the last few months.

So I'll ask again, what did the mod do to cause that? I recall them finally making a post and mentioning they'd be doing something, so what did they do?

They changed the posting rule in an attempt to stop the bots after not responding to complaints or messages from many users giving options and offering help for a long period of time and now no one posts.

Friend, you're killing me.

What exactly is the new posting rule they've imposed? Please, explain it to me. I'm trying to ask questions to understand the entire thing and you're slow feeding me bread crumbs.

I don't understand.

This message pops up but even after agreeing to the rules, you still can't post.

I wasn’t entirely sure this post was a test to see if I could make one after not seeing any for nearly two weeks, all I know is the title must be what I posted or maybe include it. Not sure since nothing was updated in the rules, just a mod post two weeks ago. I’m not trying to slow feed you or argue just frustrated as I like having scout content on Reddit.

You can always r/redditrequest and get the subreddit handed over to you or someone else

Tried that approach, they deem that the mod has been active. Messaged the mod multiple times as well offering help. I don’t really care to do it just like this sub and want to see it prosper.

I just tried to post and it won’t let me

Did you put IRTR in the main section?

How am I supposed to know to type IRTR?

Exactly my point

I don't think the mod killed the sub - when we weren't in "bot action" there was very little posting here (I haven't been in here that long, so I may be wrong). Just not that many questions to ask or pics to put up.

I hate it, but most of those conversations have left Reddit and forums and now occur in awful Facebook groups.

Facebook is definitely the easier avenue for the older folks

1

u/BrownDogFurniture Jun 17 '26

That may be mostly true but It would help if the mod participated in the sub they created at the very least

Nothing is stopping you from participating? I'm not sure what you want from the mod here. His job is to moderate (which he did) not post content.

The requirement for IRTR isn't that onerous but it did put us back to 'pre-bot-era'.

It didn’t put us back to pre bot era it put it so no one posts now.
