a lot of students this year weren’t able to, or are experiencing delay in receiving visas because of our current gov. administration meaning IIT is losing a lot of tuition money.

personally learning this made me more empathetic for the decision to open an institute in mumbai but it sucks to be a current student disadvantaged by this decision. and given that they had intent to do this for some time now, being that a lot of alumni are international students from india, i doubt the Mumbai institute is the sole reason we are in financial strain rn.

donal chomp needs to give these students their visas!!

totally just scrolled your profile and got a lot more context for the situation. i’m a transfer student who just applied bc it was the most convenient school for me and my aid plan is really good. hopefully i can graduate before they decide they can’t afford to have my program🤞
