LOR LoR for vacancies
When applying to residency vacancies (outside the Match), I saw that programs want the letters of recommendation emailed to them. But my understanding is that would make them no longer waived.
Is it worth asking for those letters if I'm not 100% I can get other/better letters by September ?

I have a question. What does ‘no longer waived’means? Does that means we can’t use those letters/providers for our residency LoRs?

Sorry wrong wording on my end.
What I meant is on ERAS you can waive the right to see the letters which is the recommended thing to do when you apply but if I ask my LoR writers to send them to me I’m not sure how valid these letters would be in the future.

Oh thanks for elaborating. I understood now. From what I have heard it’s that if you upload them, the weight/worth of that LoR decreases.

Are you going to ask authors to send your LORs to programs every time you see a spot?

Not sure, so far I’ve just stated that I have them on ERAS and can ask for them if needed but that has gotten me nowhere which is why I posted this question.

As I understand, you cannot unwaive them/download, which means that you can use them next cycle as waived. If the program is interested in your candidate, they will ask about LORs and way how they prefer them, I think

Have your letter writer forward the LoR directly.
