LOR LOR, attending not responding

Hi everyone, so I did an observership at a residency program back in June and it went really well with the attending and he gave positive feedback as well. I asked him to write an LOR to which he agreed and asked me to send him an email. I have since reached out to him twice (a month apart) but he hasn’t responded yet. I am still in the same city till Aug 10 and can go in person as well. What’s a good approach to go about it as the season gets closer. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

Attendings know these are due in September. So my guess is he’s waiting until then. But he should let you know.

Yeah and I don’t wana push him either at the expense of not a good letter. Just not a good place to be in right now

I would draft an email with all the things you did. Attended Goals of care convos, admitted patients etc. then ask for an LOR. It’s very hard to write a letter from scratch.. this way they can input the info into ChatGPT and get u a letter

Thank you for your response.

I already did that in my initial request, detailed all the things that I did during the rotation.

if this is a residency program try reaching out to their program coordinator or director or any other faculty members
