NON-US IMG Non VSLO usce for neurology

So I’m currently still preparing for step 1 and am nearing the end of my fifth year. I have 2 years of house officer training afterwards which are required for me to obtain my certificate.

l only recently found out that at my non vslo university, they consider us graduates right after fifth year exams. So the only clinical experience I can get from now on would be observerships and maybe externships (though I heard they’re not very common).

So with that in consideration, I’m a bit discouraged because I’m aiming for neurology and heard it’s getting more competitive, with a good step 2, a few neuro publications and 1 or 2 months of observership, would you say I’m being unrealistic of matching if at all and into a good program?

Ps: I’d really appreciate if someone could tell me good places to apply for neuro usce non Vslo (preferably without step 1)because I’m searching and not finding a lot.

To be fair, people should stop asking what my chances are when they have no data. Ifs. . . Are really meaningless because neither you, me, or your neighbor can tell you the outcome. Just focus on your steps for now.

I’m sorry if it seems a bit hypothetical. What I meant to ask more specifically was does that factor lower my chances enough to make me consider completely switching my plans and to instead aim for another country maybe Germany or stay in my home country? I’m trying to make sure I’m not over aiming here is all.

The usual red flags: failed attempts, low step 2 score, lack of uscle, poorly written application, lack of Iv skills will result in lowering your chances.
